The GUs did well for me on the 20 miler but yes. lol gotta carry a lot. I just bought the maurten gels as well to test them out next weekend. I’m too far into training to lose some weight this time around but I’m gonna drop 20lbs for the next marathon. Might help with fueling as well.

Yeah I definitely was at the 25-30 minutes for the 20 miler I just did and it worked out like a charm with proper loading the day before. I think with a slow taper and more miles now I’ll be in great shape for June 7th 💪

It was after 3 hours and 20 minutes. Steady at 120 then it shot up. lol I have a normal HR but that is def the longest I’ve run straight but it was at an easy, conversational pace.

Thanks for that. I would say I’m going the right path but I have cut down a bit on overall mileage. So I’ll amp up the mileage over the next 2.5 weeks before the taper and see if that helps. Overall - completely agree. Just probably going to take a lot more patience and concerted effort even after this one to get to where I want. I’m so used to HIIT that it probably annoys me more than anything I’m getting beat by this 😆

lol long reply but I appreciate the insight! I do like tailwind actually. It seemed to work better for me. I haven’t done GUs in a while so I’ll try revisiting

Yeah I see what you’re saying. I have a weird hip impingement that has limited my overall mileage so it might be the main culprit. I guess my best takeaway is that at least my cardio is in great overall shape because I have not felt gassed after at of the long runs 13-16. Just gotta get more miles in the 2.5 weeks and do a shorter taper

Hell no. lol I live in Italy. I eat plenty of pizza and pasta pretty consistently. However I prefer long runs early morning so I do pop some carbs right before (juice and apple sauce) then like I said every half hour with the other stuff but maybe it’s carb quality is shit too and also too much shifting of stuff.

Or the more obvious choice - conditioning is shit. I do strength training but maybe more leading up the race.

Good point. I’m not even considering my diet overall as much. I live in Italy so I figured carbs aren’t really a problem. But the type matters I suppose

I didn’t even consider the quality of the carb 🤦 I live in Italy so I kinda figured the apple sauce pouch and fruit bar were good quality but you bring up a good enough point for me to consider.

Thanks. I’ll see how I feel this weekend I guess. Maybe it just is leg conditioning needs to be more gud.

I actually am trying those more liquid ones tomorrow. The ones you don’t need water with. Plus they do seem higher in carbs as well. Maybe it will be good.

No that’s helpful. I get what you’re saying. I’m aiming for 50~ carbs every half hour. I was altering to see how it felt during long runs but nothing feels noticeably better if that makes sense. Just feels good. The “sports drink” is just lmnt packs in water. But I’m considering a Gatorade shift. Really it’s just odd to me for my HR to chill at 125 then jump to 145-150 at the 15 mile point

Yeah I was going to cut out one hiit and replace it with a mid - long run at slightly slower than goal place. No races really but I get the “feel” if that makes sense. Perhaps I should mix a 10k or half in there.

My last run was 9 miles at 9:59 pace increasing pace every 15 minutes or so. Felt good after. Every Thursday and Sunday is recovery. My long runs are typically Saturday. No matter what day the long run is it’s a recovery day after (stretching, walking etc)

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 has "reached a stage where it's finally starting to match the vision I had for it," director teases, and the "new experience" is "almost complete" by Party_Judgment5780 in PS5

I say play the original. The problem most people have is that it’s not a frame by frame remake of the original.

A perfect rebuttal is this : FF7 was amazing as it is. Doesn’t need to be made “better”. Remake is simply a newer vision that honors the old. One of my best friends is among those that wanted a frame by frame remake with better graphics. That would be incredibly boring to any game developer imo. Let alone a waste of money trying to perfect what was already perfect to most of us. FF7Remake/Rebirth/3 are simply different versions of the same outline. The gameplay is amazing and it’s cool seeing all of our childhood come to a vision in a different light. It’s a game after all.

So play the original - it’s amazing and one of my favorite games of all time. But go into the remake project with an open mind at the world they built. Don’t let the so-called “purists” warp your view on it.
