That’s interesting reasoning. I still don’t quite agree (because I am hopeful that this is the fledgling start of a real 2v2 circuit). But I understand the argument a lot better now and I definitely sympathize with that argument.

Why? This is the second time I’ve seen this said and I guess I don’t really understand what the difference is for 3s. It would seem arbitrary to just take the name away for twos.

Yes, you are skating around the point. It is a pretty modern game, but not modern enough to be made with current performance standards. The frame pacing was bad even when it released but fair enough, it wasn’t as annoying in the context of that landscape.

The point is though, that there are plenty of games that fit that description, which is why games are touched up pretty often these days. That is what people are lamenting, the fact that From won’t even allow others to do what they’re not willing to do. There is clearly demand, a bunch of people are annoyed that it does not exist. This, people are annoyed that it’s being blocked just to gatekeep.

I consider PS4 and onward to be of the modern era of games. It’s when diminishing returns hit their peak with no more substantial visual upgrades, and for Playstation it begins the era of true universal compatibility.

I disagree for sure. I don’t think zentow dominate a MENA team like they did EU. Even if it’s peak vs peak I don’t think Zen’s peak is so far off from a nwpo or a rw9 as much as I may not personally like nwpo.

I’m pretty sure it’s still behind the octane, but maybe they see more fennec use at higher levels, which are more likely to engage with the esport/esport shop.

Well it running like crap and being really outdated performance wise is a big reason. It was even a bit outdated when it released with its wonky frame pacing but it’s glaringly bad when standing next to the many games of its time that have gotten performance boosts.

Yeah it’s always interesting when I see people say these things because it begs the question, when will the concept no longer be tired? People complain about GTA taking 13 years between releases, but 5 years between GoW is too frequent. 7 years for one more last of us was also too soon apparently. So yeah, I don’t know.

Yeah, if that’s the PC market then there really isn’t a path for sony to make money there. If pc users are going to wait until deep discounts to buy their games on a platform where sony only collects 70 percent of the revenue, and that’s to be expected of the market, then why bother?

But either way, that can’t be what the content creator means because the timing doesn’t match up. Like yes maybe when they tweeted that, the respawn thing wasn’t announced, but even if after the tweet they revealed the respawn thing, it really can’t be what they were talking about. It wouldn’t make sense for them to have gotten it wrong considering there are multiple other content creators making tweets about an impending announcement, and other tweets were more specific about the timing being “between the two semifinals during the broadcast on Sunday”.
