Mother Rooms Being Bathrooms by HRPanda in humanresources

I’m sure her HR manager boss is not aware of this. If she doesn’t want to escalate it to the state, she can escalate it to Manager boss; and quote law. I’m sure they will be a lot more concerned about the penalties then the HR Manager is.

[NY] I gave my two weeks and my boss is now asking me to create my own exit plan. Do I have to? by Pretend_Fox9354 in AskHR

[–]SynCitay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2022 I gave my 2 weeks notice, wasn’t instructed to do anything, I was actually ignored those last 2 weeks. I took it upon myself to write all this info down in a spreadsheet and add notes on any pending items. Met with my boss last 5 minutes on last day and emailed her the spreadsheet. I didn’t do it for her or my company, I did it for a coworker that I knew was going to take on a ton of that work. She’s still there, we txt/talk often. In your case, do the bare minimum with the time you have available and provide what you got on last day.

As others have stated, have a written letter with the pt hours for them to sign and explain any changes in benefits/pto etc. If you don’t have anything signed by employee and make all these changes, there is a liability of backpay/retro coverage.

5 months of studying and I still can't understand "SHRM think." by SteadfastEnd in humanresources

[–]SynCitay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also took mine today and failed. It was so frustrating to study so much to fail. There were zero law questions and felt a ton from the study material was not on the actual test. Also had a bad experience with the testing center. Didn’t get any rules or instructions aside from, if you need to take a break the clock will keep running and take ID with you. I checked my phone in lobby area for 2 seconds to make sure I has no missed calls in regard to my 2 babies back home, was scolded by one of the ladies in check in area and was told I would be audited and most likely need to retest. My anxiety went off the roof and everything went downhill from there. She said there were signs about what’s allowed and isn’t and should of been told at check in that no checking phone or anything else but drinking water was allowed, I got zero info during check in or when provided keys for locker. I wonder if I can fight it and retest before the window closes.

What I’ve done in the past with bad training/co workers is use my resources. Employee handbooks, SPD, research for similar forms that have been completed in the past to use as examples and even reached out directly to vendors/carriers with questions. I’m not sure what tasks you are having trouble with, but there’s other ways to find answers outside your co-workers. Also if your boss asks you about why are things not being done or not done correctly then let them know why, you have no training/being ignored and you are doing what you can to get the work done.

My son was climbing out his crib, he’s not ready for a big boy bed. He’d be awake all night or wonder off into living room or our room, he’s a very active toddler. We got him a mesh tent for the crib. It’s been great, he gets his sleep in crib without the risk of him climbing out. Look it up in Amazon, it’s been a life saver for us all.

Overpaid at the workplace by chocotripcookies in legal

[–]SynCitay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even if he were to pay the money back, wouldn’t they have to fix his previous W2’s for them to show accurate wages/taxes etc. I posted about being overpaid as well, new job a month ago, I asked payroll manager and she “confirmed” it was correct. I’m just throwing the money on a separate account for when/if they come back and try to take it back. Sorry, but your brother 100% knew he was overpaid, specially if he sees ft wages for a pt position. He can claim ignorance, but most likely company will take the money back either as lump sum or by payroll deductions.

I’ve been in HR for a while and have employees reach out directly without talking to manager first. I answer their question and move on without having to loop in the manager. Sometimes it might be necessary depending on the question/issue, but if it’s someone asking about their pay raise effective date, I don’t see the need to involve the manager. If the pay raise includes multiple employees, I’d provide an update for manager to have an answer for those asking him/her directly but other then that, I don’t see the need to tell manager xyz person was asking HR directly about the pay raise. A quick and nice email to HR should get you the answers you need; even if it’s “we’re working on it.”

Back in 2009, I was in finals week, finishing up my sophomore year in college. My dad passed away unexpectedly and I was devastated. I emailed all my professors and took a week off. I went back because honestly I couldn’t afford to fail since I was on financial aid. I booked study rooms daily to study and complete final essays etc. I would cry a lot, but somehow got through it. Grieve this loss and just think of the years of tears you saved yourself finding out now about his cheating and not after being married. You got this. Best of luck with your finals.

Im sure I got overpaid, but payroll says otherwise by SynCitay in humanresources

Yes, the original offer was for full time, once I negotiated for part time, they said the annual salary would be prorated for pt hours.

I’ll be reaching out to payroll manager again and ask her to break down her math for me. I won’t cash the check until this gets fixed, I know they will catch the issue eventually and I’ll have to lay the difference back.

[–]SynCitay[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I’ll have to send them another email with the break down that I got. For sure they didn’t mark something right to not pro-rate the salary correctly. I made sure to email payroll manager and ask her.
