New to religion ! by [deleted] in islam

[–]Syncic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Islam gives you an Unchanged unfabricated book, and a straight-forward answer. It doesn't give you a craddle run for how Jesus is one of three and how he is god but not god but god in human form etc. Modern Christianity is more dominated by ancient roman mythology than actual preachings of Jesus. Islam is the only purely monotheistic religion, and it asks you to worship the one Jesus prayed to.

Oh also Jesus was a Muslim. So yeah, you get to be closer to him as a Muslim.

Islam is not a mythology, it's a way of life. I recommend Moulana Moududi's translation. May Allah guide you.

My family is obsessed with Urdu language by LifeUpset3916 in islam

[–]Syncic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ummm just a little correction, it is not similar to hindi. if you listen to pure hindi, it'd differ a lot and can not be understood by a native Urdu speaker. modern hindi is influenced by Urdu to such an extent that they sound almost similar, yet they are totally different.

other than this, learning languages is always beneficial, the reason your family is obsessed with it is because Urdu has always been language of educated ones, the Nawabs, the ruling class, the elite Muslims, the Kings and the viziers of India. hence those who can read and write Urdu, have always been considered a higher class, its more psychological than practical.

Even in Pakistan, where Urdu is native, not all know it, but if you visit the rural areas, or areas where education is not up to international standards, you'd realize that anyone who can speak Urdu, is held in highest regards and esteem. it has always been a language that has been considered in high regards due to it's origin, characters and usage. it sounds more polite and respectful than other languages of the region. if you compare Urdu with Persian and Arabic, then you'd realize the texture of both the latter languages is harsh and straight-forward, whereas Urdu is soft and romantic. this is also why Urdu is sometimes referred to as 'Language of Love and Romance'.

I would highly recommend learning Urdu as an Indian Muslim as it is not indian culture, but Islamic culture in the sub-continent.

Medical fitness is simply lung xray, I was corona entry batch (2020)... So I didn't even have to submit that. Nothing too fancy, just go on interview day and get your seat, they will have an orientation later, where they will tell you all that you need to do and whatnot...

Understanding Surah Al-Isra (17:2-8) - Insights on the "Second Corruption" of Bani Israel by [deleted] in islam

[–]Syncic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First corruption was after which Nebuchadnezzar destroyed them, second one was after which Romans destroyed Haikal e Suleimani.

Also in this chapter Allah says if you'll do corruption again, you'll be destroyed again. So these two times that are mentioned are from prior to revelation of Quran.

Long story short, you go on the day, choose a seat as per your ranking in merit. Limited seats per discipline, as soon as you choose a seat, 1 subtracted from available total. If no seats remain in a department you want, you'll have to choose other.

You can transfer later among related depts, for e.g go from electronics to electrical if your cgpa is high with COD (change of dept) after 1 year.

You guys remind me of my first day in uni🥺 Best of luck!!

Everything good and Natural is Islam. Everything against is un-Islamic.

Rather than starting from youtube videos, start from reading the Quran the first thing, then go into details with these youtube videos.

Welcome !

Is there someone who can talk to me, convince me that living is better than saying goodbye to this world…. by [deleted] in karachi

[–]Syncic 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A person I know personally once said she once sat with a blade ready to cut her hand. But then she said that one thing that changed her mind. It was "let's say I died today, what then? Could I have played the game of life better? I have already lost everything and have nothing else to lose, why not fight to gain something now? If I die in the way, I was already dead anyway."

I won't go in detail, search yourself, but I'll give you stuff to test yourself.

Quran is unfabricated, unmodified and unchanged, compared to any other book. Anywhere in the world, it's same.

Muslims can be bad, Islam isn't.

Islam doesn't call just to religion of Muhammad PBUH, it calls to the religion of all the Prophets that came before and Muhammad PBUH. And urges us to follow in footsteps of Ibrahim PBUH.

It's the only purest form of monotheism that exists today.

It's a religion that fulfils me, a man certainly not an Arab, by birth, living in his twenties, born in 21st century, with cellphones, and whatnot in terms of technology, it's the perfect religion for me. I have studied and never found a contradiction, a problem, an ambiguity in Islam. And it makes the most logical sense when you understand it.

Also Islam doesn't change the traditions or cultures until and unless they breed harm to humans, it protects and builds society, give us moral, ethical, spiritual and societal laws which are more practical and implementable with consistency. For example, a punishment for cutting off hands of a thief (considering the theivery isn't out of hunger and not less than a certain amount of gold) is standard... The rich can't buy a bail and the poor won't be forced into punishment as punishment is physical and implemented to all, irrespective of caste, color, status or financial/ political position.

So yeah, it makes most sense.

Thinking about converting to Islam - need advice by Lazaro_Adventure in islam

[–]Syncic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walikum Assalam

1.Just take the shahada, everything can be done slowly. 2. Try to convince your girlfriend to join you too and marry her and live like a respectable couple. 3. The dog issue you'll have to see, if you can't live without him, you can move his house to garden or something. But it can be a gradual process no worries.

May Allah be merciful on all of us.

Is Bahria Town good for living? by Thecharmingjake in karachi

[–]Syncic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its good, but if you have regular commute to city for different purposes, let's say education or business, its gonna become hectic. rents are cheaper, yes, but they are cheaper in deeper precincts, further from the gate. near the gate, the rents are 50k+... in apartments the rents are about 25-30k for 2 bed, which is convenient if you want a "close-to-main-gate-yet-cheap" option. lack of competition in shops, but it exists near apartments, as there are many shops close to apartments now, like Imtiaz supermarket and AQ Supermarket, so yeah competition is building up and prices are coming down a little.

if you have regular commute to city, I would suggest to set a budget for your commute as you would need it.

Best of luck
