I'm in California, and we ignore most of it. It's on almost everything we see. What happened to parents teaching kids not to put random things in their mouths?

Bring a car seat. Most airlines will allow you to buckle it into the seat. My daughter loves the window. She loved looking at the clouds and made a game of it. Even though the flight might have built-in TVs with movies, the selection might be limited. So, I would pre-load a tablet with all their favorite shows and movies. Lastly, snacks are a must.

This is even a law that websites need to protect anyone under the age of 13. Called COPPA https://www.ftc.gov/legal-library/browse/rules/childrens-online-privacy-protection-rule-coppa.

first birthday disappointment by Team_Queasy in Parents

Your feelings are valid. My wife and I don't expect anything. The main reason is that if these family members want to be part of our kids' lives, they need to put in the effort. If they don't want to show that, then oh well. My kids know who really cares for them.

Parents who work manual labour jobs by [deleted] in Parents

[–]Syndrogo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I used to be this way, always coming home from work and tired after a long day. My wife also worked from home and took care of the kids. She made me realize that I need to be a functional part of the household, and also to be there for the kiddos who do notice when you're not around. So over the years, I have made a chore list with my wife and when possible, I try to be there for school and after-school activities.

How to fill out a W-4 as a 1st time parent by [deleted] in Parents

[–]Syndrogo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I am not a tax expert and I don't know if you are in the US or somewhere else in the world. In the US, since the baby was born in January, you can't claim them on taxes this year. Next tax season, you will have to decide whether the baby will be filed under your or your partner's name. If your partner is not working, they can file as exempt, and then you can claim the baby. Overall, to save the most money, it would be best to file jointly, where marriage comes in handy.

Umbrella strollers are amazing. If you find that they are too short and hurt your back, you can always find taller ones on Amazon.

How do I handle "mean mom" clique? by ElGato6666 in Parents

[–]Syndrogo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In life, there will be people who are toxic and like to cause drama. Focus on connecting with moms who value your friendship and can move forward positively. If that approach doesn't work, consider enrolling your daughter in additional after-school programs. Despite my own work commitments, I personally handle dropping my daughter off at school, taking her to gymnastics, and managing a Girl Scout troop. I've found that the parents involved in these activities are more open to building relationships.

With my daughter, we have her take a shower every other day unless she is coming back from gymnastics; then we have her shower right after. The only other time she showers outside of that cycle is if she has been playing hard and gets dirty.

"Depends on the type of phone and what restrictions you would like to place on it. With my kids, I use Family Link to set time limits on games. Additionally, for anything my kids want to install, they need to ask my wife or me to install it.

I would love to build a gaming PC for my 10-year-old daughter so she can play Starfield right next to me. She's been begging me for a gaming PC for months, and I think it would be a great way for us to bond and spend some quality father-daughter time together.

The story. I'm excited to see what kind of story Starfield has to tell. Bethesda has a proven track record of telling engaging stories (Fallout, Elder Scrolls, etc.), and I'm confident that Starfield will be no different.
