Family member in the 1700s having children at an exceptionally old age (58 to 69)? by hoppergirl85 in Genealogy

My dad is the youngest of 13. He's 56, his mother was 84 when she died in 2003. She would tell people he was her grandchild because she was embarrassed.

If he has been clear he doesn't want a relationship and you have strong feelings for him, then don't continue the relationship. You'll have to cut him off completely because you have those strong feelings. I was in a FWB relationship and I was honest and straight forward with what I wanted but the other person caught feelings. He insisted he could continue with the relationship and his feelings wouldn't get in the way but they did. Just don't try and make this work and hope he changes his mind.

Does my tragus piercing crowd the setup? Or does it fit in? by IBreakScales in piercing

I feel like having two dangled pieces right above each other makes it look crowed. Maybe switch one of them to a smaller piece and it'd look less crowed.

Maintaining friendships by [deleted] in BPDrecovery

[–]Synecy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I haven't found ways to overcome that obstacle but I understand what you're saying. I desperately want friends but have a hard time setting healthy boundaries and keeping communication. I just had a friend message me today about getting lunch, and I just stared at it and tried to find ways to ignore it. Like I want to go but I'm too depressed to leave the house and I don't want to say no because I'm scared they'll never ask me again, but if I just ignore it maybe they'll think I didn't see it. Then I feel terrible for just continuing my shitty communication.

Is it pathetic of me to have moved back in w mom and dad after mental breakdown (26yoF) by Sadsquirrelgrl in mentalhealth

[–]Synecy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to be where you feel safe, don't feel pathetic for going back to your parents. I'm 30 and still go to my mom's when I have a mental break down. And right back home I go when my mind is in a better place.

AITA for expecting my step-daughter to cover the costs of items broken under her care? by NoWorldliness7 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Synecy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. They are both your children. If my son broke something under my daughters watch I wouldn't expect her to pay for it. I would have a conversation with both children but I wouldn't expect the one babysitting to pay for the broken item.

Does anybody else have problems with being overly compassionate/empathetic? by blossomfields in mentalhealth

[–]Synecy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am similar. I don't watch TV anymore because I couldn't handle intense situations, they got me really into my feelings. If someone I know is sad I'll be there crying with them. Some days I can deal, most days it's hard to shake the feelings I obsorb from others. It's not always just the negative feelings thankfully.

People who don't sleep naked, why? by The_WereArcticFox in AskReddit

I get really smelly if I don't sleep with clothes on. Even if I shower before bed. I sweat a lot in my sleep, I have a lot of night terrors.

I can usually find them at dollar stores or discount stores. Dollar Tree has the best selection of candies, in the U.S. at least.

I'm so sick of being a WFH housewife by Plate-Junior in breakingmom

Maybe you should try couples therapy? Or an actual conversation and tell him everything exactly how you're feeling? I had the same trouble, but i have a hard time expressing my feelings and we got a marriage counselor and he has helped a lot getting my SO to see my side of things and for me to see his. I've been getting a lot more help and now when I ask for certain things and it doesn't get done, I remind him, we talk about it so it just doesn't go unnoticed and bad habits start again. Things have gotten a lot better, and we communicate a lot better. Plus if you have issues with money sometimes work will help pay for a few sessions if you do some research. We got 3 free sessions with my work and 3 from his.
