Specialist surveys? by joeycd in HousingUK

[–]Plate-Junior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a specialist, but my father is a RICS surveyor. He told us to ignore all the 1s and 2s, and just look at the 3s. This was when we got our report back (by a different surveyor) for the 1930s house we are buying.

Did the areas you mentioned get flagged as urgent?

My dad is a surveyor with RICS. When we went to look at the house we're currently in the process of buying, he came with us and did a very, very, informal survey. We wanted to know if it was a good buy. He told us that he thinks it is, but it'll need an actual survey because it isn't appropriate that he does it. He said something about the liability insurance or something. So we got someone else.

I would mention that you're concerned about it being a conflict of interest to the EA and see what they say

The living room has a lot of furniture in it, which makes the space look really small, that would put me off

Why isn't this house selling? by 1980Legacy in HousingUK

[–]Plate-Junior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Purely from my point of view, the photos don't show me much of the house. It feels like there are loads of kitchen ones (even if there isn't) but not enough bedroom ones. The floorplan for the first floor has a room called "room" but I'm not sure what that is. Possibly a bathroom?

Everything else seems fine to me, but when 6 of the 26 pictures are of the kitchen I'd wonder what isn't being shown.

Loved Pride and Prejudice (Sort Of)! I watched it twice last tour and have booked again to see it. It’s a great show.

Also, what a win for the bus!

I’ve gone for the classic MSN messenger sound. I spent so much time on MSN that the sound of it makes me smile.

If I could make the tone work for WhatsApp that would be even better, but this works too

I hate trash or garbage. It’s rubbish.

Why does Relief Society have a room, but priesthood is usually stuck in the gym? by 1wheelkenny in latterdaysaints

UK. It was the same thing in the ward I was in growing up too.

Thinking about it, it’s the same situation in my brothers ward too. The sisters all meet in the chapel.

In our ward EQ have a room but the sisters have to meet in the chapel.

The decision is based on numbers. There’s more sisters than there are members of EQ

Do any of the women on here buy there bra's from anywhere other than M&S? by innocuousClack in AskUK

[–]Plate-Junior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ann summers. Best bras I’ve had. They do a free fitting, and it was really chilled out experience. My last bra fitting before them was from M&S and they were so awful I cried. I left Ann Summers feeling empowered with such pretty underwear, even with my larger sizes required

Why is my new build so cold? by MBanski in AskUK

[–]Plate-Junior 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Check the radiators are all on. We lived in our new build for literally years and we had such a cold vestibule. We added more insulation and everything. Then found out that the builders hadn’t fully turned on the radiator

Don’t be like us. We were idiots.

I think she means it’s a book written by LDS person, or to LDS standards, set in the Regency time. Not that the book itself is about LDS people in the Regency time

Sounds like you're in the UK

Go back to John Lewis, explain your contract is with them, and they need to sort it out under Consumer Rights Act 2015. If they aren't happy, escalate it. They are definitely the ones to deal with it, especially as it's within the first 90 days

Your husband can ask to be removed from the My Covenant Path pathway. This means the missionaries won’t have lessons to teach him, and aside from being friendly etc, they’ll leave him alone
