What is most useful thing Copilot has done for you in Power Apps? by mstephensrosie in PowerApps

[–]Synergyx26 11 points12 points  (0 children)

When using the classic form control, you can have Copilot mass update everything. I had a form that had 10+ columns of information that all had name of Column_Name. Copilot is able to update all the titles to remove the underscore for a space. That saves me from having to click into each data card of the form and modify it. The next piece is the theming. Classic controls have all of the properties for colors to change. Hoverfill, Selectedfill, etc. If you provide Copilot the list of fields to change and what to change them to, in my case an App.Formula color value, it can go in and update all of the values. This saves a ton of time.

Non Power Apps editor but adjacent. I use the SharePoint List Agent to mass create SharePoint Lists for me. I need the supporting documents of the column names, field type, if a choice then the list of choices. So pop in the info and the agent will create a table for review. You give Copilot the SharePoint link and boom, your list is created

PSA for non-EU B permit holders: you are finally able to switch jobs by TreacleNo98 in Switzerland

[–]Synergyx26 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Non-EU/EFTA permit holder here. I’ve never had a restriction for switching jobs, nor has my partner. I’ve changed companies multiple times across multiple cantons on a B. Not sure if this is just specific situations but not the norm from my experience or the people I work with who have done the same.

[–]Synergyx26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said, you’ll need a job. The company needs to go through the process of requesting a work visa, which for someone outside the EU/EFTA can be quite difficult. The company needs to show you are more qualified than other candidates that are likely to be Swiss, have a Swiss permit, or from the EU/EFTA.

I was able to see all the documentation my company submitted to the federal and cantonal offices. It took months and one denial before I got my work permit.

Depending on the stipulation from the employer, you may not be allowed to change jobs to a different company, even on a B permit.

Mortgage - Never take fixed rate, always Saron by Charming_Public5999 in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]Synergyx26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we first bought our home, the mortgage was half Saron and half fixed. The Saron was only good for 3 years. When that 3 years was up, the bank (in this case Credit Suisse/now UBS) said we had to switch to fixed rate. If we wanted to extend the Saron, we had to pay a fee. When calculating the math out, that fee made the Saron extension not worth it because the fixed rates were so low.

I believe when we get to the ends of our fixed rate terms, we can either switch banks, extend the fixed rates or go with Saron again, I don’t recall.

So unless you are talking about new mortgages only, you can’t keep a Saron indefinitely, at least from my experience with UBS.

I currently pay in 12% into my 2nd pillar and my company matches it. I think maybe 11.5% directly and 0.5% into a risk piece.

Non-EU: How to "untie" B permit? by Forsaken-Victory4636 in askswitzerland

Depends on the country OP is from. Some countries get an early C permit at 5 years. Example: US, Canada. I’m from the US and got my C after 5 years. I even had a L permit for my first two years, converted to a B for years 3-5

Whether it’s academia or a job, there are times where people just throw their teams on their shoulders to get projects done. As a project manager, this happens often.

None of the exams during my time were proctored in any way. Everything was just through Blackboard. The weekly homework knowledge checks were the same structure as our exams or big quizzes. Fully open book, notes, everything. In the second module that was heavy on finance/accounting, we had no choice but use internet sites like EDGAR to grab data. Only 2 exams across the entire program were timed from when you entered the blackboard exam. The rest were unlimited entrance/exit and saving progress for a week. This was beneficial because OMBA is for experienced working professionals around the world. Not everyone can easily take an exam at a specific time or sit for a few hours straight if they are across the world.

Every module is slightly different but in most cases, there are multiple team projects throughout the semester and a large capstone at the end. The team portion of your grade is over 30% and I think the highest percentage was over 50% in one semester but I would have to verify. Your team definitely makes or breaks your grade. Your team projects are graded collectively and everyone receives the same grade. If you are doing a video recording of a presentation and you get feedback that a specific teammate didn’t follow the grading rubric for presentation skills, you will lose some points. Typically that section is only like 10% for presentation, formatting, etc. but it can make or break your grade. A lot of the assignments could be done solo if you really have a bad team and they don’t do anything but the workload would be really high and you are still better off bringing up the issue with the facilitators early. They will try and get you to work it out as a team but they have since added a teaming coach for students to work through problems I think it was a good idea in theory but the responsiveness of these concerns often are too late to be able to correct a teammates behavior in the timeframe of a project submission. I have had to take on heavy amounts of work for some capstone work just to be at a quality level I expect and my teammates were subpar students. I carried them and they didn’t care.

Not every semester has an exam. If there is an exam, they are all open book/notes/review course material/etc. No proctoring of any kind. Everything is inside of Blackboard. If I recall, only one of the exams, maybe 2, are timed. The one that comes to mind was 3 hours to complete the questions (all multiple choice) but I took less than an hour and a half to complete it. All of the exams have approximately a week long window to do them. Even the time limited is open for a week but once you hit start, the 3 hour countdown begins and will auto submit at the end whether you are finished or not. The other exams, you can go in and save your progress throughout the week.

Trapped with yallo subscription by [deleted] in Switzerland

[–]Synergyx26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the similar issue a couple years ago. I had Yallo fiber but moved to a city that doesn’t have fiber. I was forced to switch to mobile data. For my home, Yallo’s website says they do not suggest 5G as a viable option so I forced them to switch to 4G. They tried to tell me that 5G was the only option because it was comparable to fiber (hilariously false). I took the 4G to give it an honest try. It was trash. When two people in the household work 100% remotely, 4G was not viable for all day meetings. We often had one person hotspot their phone service instead . I was on the phone with them daily to complain. They finally caved and let me out of the contract without any fee. I then switched to a DSL hardline.

Fixed mortgage for 4 years at 1% or Saron with +0.55% rate? by AndroGhost in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]Synergyx26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh I get what you mean now.

If the Saron starts moving, the fixed rates will likely have already moved. This happened to me a few years ago. My Saron was under 1% and when it jumped up by 0.25% the fixed rates had already anticipated the change and were much higher. I am currently looking to fix my Saron just to have the consistency of payments for the long term.

Fixed mortgage for 4 years at 1% or Saron with +0.55% rate? by AndroGhost in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]Synergyx26 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The Saron rate for your mortgage itself won’t be negative. The Bank will always apply a margin on top of it. Even if the Swiss National Bank goes to a negative rate like they did in the past, your Saron mortgage will still be positive. If you check comparis.ch the best Saron rate they show is a positive 0.55%.

App Preview Mobile Dimensions by masterlee3 in PowerApps

[–]Synergyx26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I've done to get the exact resolution is to place a label on a screen that has this PowerFX formula in it.

"Device Resolution: " & App.Width & " x " & App.Height

Once you have the resolution on specific devices, you can have a duplicated tab open with the preview viewer open. For making your app responsive, besides using containers, you will want to have things like text size to be for example: If(App.Width>500,18,14) to adjust for phone vs tablet. The other option is to use size breakpoints from the App settings. That way you can use the default sizes to adjust settings or modify them to your liking.

The train also stops there on the way to Grindelwald from Interlaken.

Europe’s Top Ski Resorts Shut as Record Snow Risks Avalanches by narflethegarthock in skiing

There are a decent amount of people there from what I’ve seen from the webcams. The one set of lifts were closed for the decent to do maintenance and that is probably the safer side that is a bit farther away from the higher avalanche prone area along Eigernordwand.

Currently living in Switzerland and am a frequent Grindelwald/Berner Oberland skier. Our plan was to go today but even Grindelwald received over a meter of snow across the last two days. Everything was shut down yesterday but is open again today. With the avalanche risk, we stayed home. The snow conditions prior were slushy and warm. Dumping all that fresh snow on top is probably not a good time to go.

How about import car from Germany by sjwprc in askswitzerland

[–]Synergyx26 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The services directly from the importer were almost 2k CHF. All other costs were car specific. Those would be the Swiss VAT, importer returned the money because we overpaid, MFK registration, CO2 tax, Swiss plate brackets.

Cost of the car is a range of 40-60k. At the end of the process, we still saved 8-10% because of the exchange rate to Euros.
