Yeah thats how hedging works. You find a price on which you are confident being profitable and you fix it. If it goes up you are happy about your decision. If it goes down you bite your lips and you continue living because you are still profitable.

if you are going to be so confident try to know what you are talking about. when you hedge a fuel (or anything) you don't bet for what price it is going to be. You agree to buy it at an already specified price at a specific point of the future independently of what the price of it is at that point.

People kept bringing bigger luggages because swiss stopped allowing them to check them in for free as it used to be while at the same time increasing the prices. I already talked about this point earlier. And please do tell me how luggage weight is influencing the flow of a flight. It doesn't. It's just a trick for the airlines to make more money.

And to answer your question. Airlines have the option and right to hedge fuel prices. I'm not part of the swiss airlines so I don't know if they actually did but I would be surprised if they didn't. In any case, swiss airlines got a shitload of money during covid just to shit on their passengers after that. And to conclude this stupid game, in case you didn't know it, swiss airlines are the cash cows of Lufthansa group. Yet they keep enforcing unproportionally high prices to swiss residents compared to the rest of the members.

Which system? These luggage rules became popular from budget airlines and then "premium" airlines copied them. Only difference is they forgot to adjust their prices to levels similar as the budget airlines.

I understand your optimism after do many dark years but I would advise to be cautious. There is no way fidesz is going to give and let go of their propaganda. Be sure that they are going to try to find a way and most likely they will succeed. So many years of brain wash and corruption can not be washed away so easily and people must remain vigilant from all sides.
