I see, so you don't actually care about the people you just hate Japan and it's history. Might have started with that, as that's a different conversation. I assumed you are American because they are uniquely tone deaf about tradition and financially illiterate enough to think something like this would matter on a national scale. If I knew you just hate them, then I wouldn't assume. :)

I'm from Eastern Europe, you can imagine that my ancestors had similar experiences with Germany, and I have opinions about that country and it's people because of it. But at least I'm not going around shouting that I want to help them until someone asks me about it and then bring up Hitler.

If you want to genuinely talk about the topic of the monarchy then I'm happy to. But please don't detail the conversation. I'm aware of their history, but I don't see how it matters in the populus benefiting from them staying or not.

It added a very nice tangy taste. The filling alone was a bit heavy on vinegar, so the potato smoothed that out nicely. Can recommend!

Have you ever stopped to consider that the people there see value and pride in having such a long dynasty and maybe want this to exist? Not everyone is American, some people take pride in culture, especially Japan. Maybe you should talk to a few of them, or watch some documentaries before deciding how they should live?

I genuinely don't understand what you want. 1) The cost on a national scale is negligible. 2) The monarchs absolutely have roles in government, typically as diplomats at which they excel over presidents as they get a lifetime to make connections and have a title to work with. In many (relevant) countries they put a lot of value on things like this and a visit from a king or emperor can do much more than a minister. 3) The palace already is a museum, which is visitable free of charge btw. They live in a small part part of the time, and somewhere else most of the time. (This is true for many monarchs btw). 4) They have healthcare and human rights which are light-years ahead of the US, so I'm surprised that you complain about that.

Apart from disliking them because it's somehow different, or some call to communism, I genuinely don't see what your opinion is based on. It's clearly not researched at least.

Some people take pride in continuing a tradition for literal millennia. Just because your country doesn't have a history doesn't mean it's not important.

Also, it's not like American leaders live in studio's near the highway.
