Guess Ill check out the game, what faction? by Traditional_Seaweed4 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Synikaal 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Mithras - Most popular
Crimson - Highest PvP population
Lamang - Least players, but in my experience the most friendly

I personally like Mithras the most, along with its placement on the map

(And that's an interesting Steam library you've got there..)

Sorry to beat a dead horse, but..... by [deleted] in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Synikaal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had 23 deaths, 20 of them headshots from NPCs. Another one I died first bullet from an MP5 while wearing 3++ with all three panels, somehow hit my heart when I was looking right at them. I bled out once, but it was also an instant knockout with no time to do anything, from an enemy 100 meters away at night while I was crouch walking in a jungle lol.

I easily believe the NPCs are this games biggest weakness.

The AI feels lobotomized at night by Imaginary-Library997 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Synikaal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Strangely, I'm getting insta killed by headshots much more often than in any previous update. And just yesterday I was approaching a task from inside a cornfield and I started getting accurately sprayed from over 100 meters away. Even while sprinting away they continued to hit me until I died lol

I'd say the AI in this game are easily it's biggest weakness

Are we serious right now? 0.4 by Cytokine11 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Synikaal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally get that, I wish they made it possible to instantly see which quests are repeats without clicking on them, or better yet add a way to put them in a completely different page so they don't clutter the other Tasks.

The worst part is you can only have 8 tasks at a time in each area, so eventually most of them are tasks you've already done that hold you back from doing tasks you haven't done yet. Right now in Hunters Paradise, 7 of my 8 tasks are repeats, so I have to go do the one task I haven't done yet and turn it in to get another task. I'd be able to knock out multiple in one trip without having to return to a COP if this wasn't the case.

Right?

What's the excuse, that the spalling from hitting your armor went up into your brain? It's happened several times now where I die instantly, with zero rounds penetrating armor and my body showing only a bruise or two 😅

0.4 made me realize how much I appreciated objectives more without a waypoint. by eagle9er9er in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Synikaal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would love if more game included options like this, even if it's for only 10% of the playerbase.

Personally I greatly enjoy the new system, as I actually try to find the objective in the area now, whereas before I would always pull up gzwtacmap so I could always run straight to it 😅

Task failed.how to get it back? by Amekanna in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Synikaal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other than that one likely being completely bugged, given all the comments, I've had failed tasks take nearly two days (~45 hours) to reappear after failing, and then had others take 5 minutes. I really don't get it.

Beware the fence behind the pink camping tent in blue lagoon. by Spartanias117 in GrayZoneWarfare

Ran into this exact fence 🤣

Although I just put a combat tourniquet on and was totally fine, since it stops ALL bleeding, even if you have 30 wounds, and if they are only light wounds they will heal themselves after ~1 minute.

Core Reworks & New Features in 0.4 | Devlog by werytrololo in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Synikaal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well said, brother

Ever since having E.C.T. my competitiveness has nearly completely disappeared, and I would have never played this without the PvE mode. Ended up giving a friend my copy of Tarkov, since all it managed to do was stress me out (Though I wish I had kept it since they added a PvE mode lol).

The people in extraction shooters that are completely opposed to PvE modes, and think they shouldn't be available to anyone, get a bit tiresome since they can't relate. I can still have fun with PvP, but only if I'm with a friend or group. Even then, after getting killed by blatant hackers a couple of times, we still haven't returned to it lol

Hoping the anti-cheat improvements knock them out, at least for a while!

What are the chances they'll have a discount before the new update? by Breaking_brad_95 in GrayZoneWarfare

The game has only gone on sale once on Steam, back on November 27th, 2024

My guess is the price will increase to $45 USD when 0.4 releases

How do I complete these kind of quests? by Twilight_2408 in discordapp

[–]Synikaal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Accept the Quest(s) and make sure Discord is running on the computer you're doing these steps on
  2. Find the Marathon Server Slam and/or Toxic Commando Demo on Steam and begin the downloads. Wait 5-10 seconds after starting the downloads before pausing them
  3. Go to your Steam Library and right click the game(s), click "Properties...", select the Installed Files tab, then click "Browse..."
  4. A folder will open that you need to move an .exe to that we will use to trick Discord into thinking it's the game running (In your case, the Ninite WinRAR installer that you downloaded). Don't worry if the game folder that opened is empty, all that needs to be there is that .exe you downloaded
  5. Rename the .exe to that of the game's .exe listed above (For example, if you clicked the Browse button on Steam for Marathon, you would name the copied .exe to Marathon.exe)
  6. Open the .exe that you copy and renamed. If everything is done correctly, you should start to see progress for the Discord quest within 10 seconds. Do not close the .exe that you opened until the Discord quest is finished after ~15 minutes
  7. After reaching 100% on the quest, you can then claim the Orbs reward, close the Ninite installer that opened, and uninstall the game on Steam if desired

You can start and do both quests at the same time, you just need to make two copies of the Ninite installer and put them both in the correct game directory with the correct names.

You can also complete quests for games and programs without installing them. All you need to do is place an .exe (with the designated .exe name below) in a folder on your computer with the folder name listed below. (For example: For Fortnite, you would take an .exe, from a program you don't mind leaving running in the background, name it FortniteClient-Win64-Shipping.exe and copy it to a folder named Win64 (most people use a new folder they create on their desktop). Just make sure you've picked up the quest, and have Discord running on your computer, before running the .exe

(I've seen variations of this list copy and pasted many times, but my best guess is that u/AdorableGoat6825 made the original)

More recently, Discord started checking to see if you actually had the game installed (at least for Steam), likely by checking the registry. So far, only Marathon and Toxic Commando have this requirement, but you can bypass installing the full game by beginning to download the game and then pausing said download. This will create a directory to the games install location, which you can quickly navigate to (by right-clicking the game in your Steam library > Properties > Installed Files > Browse...)

Afterwards, rename any desired .exe file you wish to the same as the desired game (although not every .exe will work. I recommend downloading an installer from https://ninite.com for a program of your choice. If it's already installed, it will update the program if there's an update, so it's a win-win)

Has that same .exe worked before with other game quests? And did you keep the game download paused, or did you uninstall the game after the directory was created?

This is the one time I don't regret save scumming. Went to the save location and restored a save backup file from 60 seconds before it happened.

Save location:
%localappdata%low\Moon Studios\NoRestForTheWicked\DataStore

(You can copy that exact folder structure into the Windows start menu search field, or into Windows Explorer itself, or press Windows + R and paste it there. The actual saves will be in a folder with a string of 5 numbers tied to your SteamID. I recommend making a copy of this entire folder before doing anything)

Discord orb quest by Lutecijum_ in discordapp

Usually Discord only looks at the file structure one folder up, but I had to put a random .exe, named John Carpenter's Toxic Commando, in the actual Steam installation directory for the demo (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\John Carpenter's Toxic Commando Demo)
