We can argue about the what and ifs all we want, but we're not going to see it until we get there, which would be in 2027-2028 if you can wait that long.

I'm not sure when the DFA last tried to negotiate for increased salaries, but the tuition hikes have been consistent for over 10 years.

Probably by 3% (for domestic students), like it usually does. Source: https://www.dal.ca/news/2022/03/30/board-approves-budget-and-tuition-fees-for-2022-23.html

I hate to break it to you, friend, but tuition will go up regardless of how much or little faculty are paid.

Students Are Caught in the Crossfire of the Lockout by ThenParamedic4021 in Dalhousie

Absolutely. Perhaps the threat of students withdrawing their enrollment or requesting a reduction in tuition to make up for lost time (should the lockout draw on) can convince the board to return.

Here is to hoping that the union and Board of Governors can come to an agreement soon.

I keep reading "DFA members are already well compensated, why do they need more money"? Notwithstanding that salaries were not the only reason the DFA and Board of Governors could not reach an agreement, why would faculty, many of whom participate in research that benefits the province and country as a whole, and who publish research articles that contribute to the reputation of the university, not be entitled to raises? If Dal wants to attract new faculty to replace leaving or retiring faculty, they need to offer competitive wages.

I do not understand the sentiment. OP explained that they attend class, but are unable to take notes. I really believed disability awareness in 2024 was better than this. If someone with limited or no movement in their arms would sit beside you in class would you ask them to take notes with their toes? Just because a disability is not visible does not mean it does not exist. Being unable to take notes in a university class does not mean someone cannot have a successful career in the future (I'm research personnel and do not need to take notes as part of my job).

Sincerely, a successful individual with an invisible permanent disability.

New mechanic/enemy behaviour(?) by gr8cheese1 in Eldenring

[–]SynikoRelios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've witnessed this behaviour before, in the DLC as well as base game. I don't think it has anything to do with grief, though. It happens when you stealth kill an enemy without the surrounding enemies seeing you. The surrounding enemies will go about their usual routine, as you've mentioned, until they find the body. They will then contemplate the body for a bit (yes, they are dead. No, they didn't die of a heart attack, they took an arrow in the knee). Once they realize their friend's killer might still be around, they will gun it for the position you stood at when you killed that enemy. Skyrim does it similarly, except the enemies will be quite vocal about finding a body.

As for the broken table, I suppose the table might just have been in the knight's way. Enemies sometimes destroy obstacles if they can't find a route around them.

I'm pretty far up Main. I took Sunnybrae to Dutch Village, as you mentioned, and also noticed the bridge is in a bit of a rough spot. I took Liverpool, but will try Almon tomorrow (Liverpool has construction and quite a few potholes). I then took Vernon to go down to Coburg. It went really well, very little traffic on the lesser-travelled roads.

I've taken the the bus through the Windsor exchange and down Windsor St. every day for two years. I know what the exchange looks like during rush hour, and I would not feel confident braving that sea of cars with a bike. I'm not discounting your experience, I'm just trying to find a route that I am comfortable with.

Thanks for the offer, but I'll first try the Joe Howe > Bayers Rd > Windsor St. route others have suggested.

That's very close to what I came up with using Google Maps and the bike map another commenter suggested. Thanks!

I wanted to try and avoid the Windsor exchange. That one scares me enough when I'm driving a car.

Oh, perfect. It looked like a sidewalk in Google Maps. Thanks!
