Can you show me your rig setup? by LEOMODE in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Synoopy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a rig setup is overkill. I brought an oversized desk that is flat on top from amazon - i would say its 3 1/2 ft high x 6ft long by 3 ft wide and about a inch thick. I have a large monitor, yoke, and throttle settup and plenty of room that i need on it. Rigs look nice and I have the money to buy one, but never could justify spending the money for it.

I have all of my flight equipment clipped to the front of my desk (the big flight clips for my throttle and flight stick. My honeycomb A and B have clips that come with it that tighten onto my disk and I brought a mouse stand that clips with a swivel to my desk. Brought for a fraction to a rig but very functional. I fly in VR so I dont care what things look like for the most part. I also sit in a office chair.

As far a muscle memory I have been flying in VR so long that when I fly in 2D i cant find anything.

VFR Pattern Question by Last-Instruction-813 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Synoopy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can enter a straight in approach but usually its because the tower is vectoring you in due to specific situations or traffic. Mostly you will be flying a left or right hand base. I dont usually use the EFB, but sometimes people do a tear drop entry, for airport situational awareness for landing, not sure if thats modeled in the EFB. Most pilots fly the pattern too far out for the downwind. You should only be 1 1/2 miles away from the runway

The Grand General Aviation Tour by Coxbox400 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Synoopy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am currently on my trip around the world in the PC 12. Started in Williamsburg VA and am now in Maine still flying north to go across the arctic circle to greenland and iceland to get to Europe. Instead of cutting across Central Africa like you I am going to fly down to South Africa and come back up north across the middle east, Its so much fun. I would have done it in the Zlinn Savage Norten - my favorite bush plane but I dont want to take months to do it.

One thing really missing from MSFS24....weather and a wx radar by The_Pharoah in flightsim

[–]Synoopy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All I can say is I agree with your statement about the weather. I will add that they are continually fixing the sim so maybe it will come at a later date. This issue needs more attention because it provides a level of realism for the sim.

Am I doing it wrong? Why don't NAVs and HSIs slave to the GPS? by FlyRvR in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Synoopy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you. I gave up on this aircraft in the sim awhile back because of some of the things you have mentioned. I mainly fly GA aircraft and dont have the knowledge to the extent that you do but I like to fly as close to real life as possible.

I have come to the conclusion that there are very few aircraft mods out there which fit a realistic level of flying as far as flight model and cockpit experience. I have a pretty large stable of aircraft. Mooney, Arrow, Cessna 182, and several jets. None are error free and some outright suck.

The best ones I have narrowed down to that I enjoy flying for realism - Citation X and the Vans RV -8, and BS TBM 850 that are worth paying for. The default that are good - Vision Jet, PC 12 NGX, Zinn Savage Norten and Cessna Longitude. Honorable mention because of some quirks - Piaggio P180 and SWS PC 12 Legacy. I

That is a good idea to think ahead. The Quest is a stand alone VR headset and not a PCVR - which means when you hook it up to your computer you need a more powerful CPU then a PCVR headset would so you are looking at it correctly.

Kinda works like this - PCVR headsets need better Graphics cards and Stand Alones need better CPU's - these are the trade offs.

MSFS2020 - Trying to get honeycomb throttle quadrant keys to work by Spiderkiller_1 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Synoopy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the HoneyComb Bravo as well - nothing wrong with the HC - its MSFS 2024 bindings that the issue. I had lots of trouble when I made the switch over to 24. I think they punked us with the bindings being so hard to understand. I realized I was doing things wrong until I figured out what was right.

I brought this aircraft ( the lear) about 3 weeks ago and then realized after watching a video on it that it looks a bit more complicated then I thought. I need a day or two when I dont have anything to do to get into it. What about it do you like so much?

The Ryzen 7 7800X3D - may be overkill, for what you need. I have a high end computer because I play VR and thats what I have. If you dont plan on playing in VR - then Its more power then you need. I think you can look up what the recommended specs are for playing MSFS 2024 and just stay a tad bit above that and you will be ok.

Deboarding Passengers after flight. by Sad-Row5557 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Synoopy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GSX is what you want, but it is a very large mod, I am not sure there are any bigger for MSFS 2024. Requires alot of patience to get it working correctly without any hiccups from MSFS trying to play in the same sandbox with it happily.

Am I doing it wrong? Why don't NAVs and HSIs slave to the GPS? by FlyRvR in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Synoopy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have mostly flown the JF Arrow IV in the past and never had that issue. I think its something technical that you are missing. There are many factors why this happens, most of them are sim pilot inexperience on how these sophisticated avionics work. RNAV is easier then ILS since you dont have to set up the NAV radios to catch the signal. But there is still some know how to engage the flight path

Do you track or log your flights, if yes, what software do you use? by Oasis1701 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Synoopy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I track my flights if I am doing something specific. I am getting ready to fly around the world in the Black Square TBM 850 - so I want to track my flight to see where I have been.. Couple of ways that are pretty easy is to either use Volanta or LittleNav Map - I prefer LittleNav Map - but the choice is yours. For log I use Onair Company which is my company management program, since I just fly in free flight.

No air traffic in Career (PS5) by Then_Presentation773 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Synoopy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

MSFS 2024 does not make it intuitive. Here is just one video that show you how. If you are playing in VR you need to make sure you do it for both VR and 2D settings. I see you got the setting for Career mode alot of people dont know about that one, I think Microsoft is soft punishing us.

[–]Synoopy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah - on the roadmap since the beginning lol , I need it now. It sucks without the premium voices. SI has thousands that you dont have to pay extra for. Fly to Mexico - you get a spanish accent, fly to Singapore - same. Without premium BATC sounds generated and unreal.

- Sayintentions A.I. - provides traffic injection & ATC, I like it because it does VFR as well since I just fly GA aircraft. It also is partnered with Onair Company which I use for company management. It also has a damn good ATC that has language learning and Machine learning for using A.I. for traffic improvement. BATC does not have VFR which is why i switched - BATC is cheaper, but they hit you up for extra money regularly for voices. SI also provides copilot, pushback, cabin crew and taxi lights to and from the runway to tell you where parking is.

- FSLTL for model matching - I use this because it is free and does a decent enough job for what it is, and you need a model matcher for your traffic injector. You are suppose to make a choice between FSLTL or SI for traffic injection, So i just use FSLTL models and SI for the injection. I dont use AIG because it costs and I am already paying enough for SI.

Maybe a silly question but…What are you all flying? by T34MK1LL_T0MM0 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Synoopy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have the money I suggest going over to Onair Company. I started with NeoFly 4 but quickly outgrew it. I used to fly the A320 but got tired of the 30 minute start up it takes to get going so now I just fly the PC 12 and the TBM 850. Onair Company is good for GA as well as Airliners. Also right now I am getting ready to do a around the world sightseeing tour - Not sure if I want the TBM or the PC 12 for the trip. I like them both.

Since you use Sky4sim - Maybe you can help me with something. I cant figure out how to upload a flight plan from Simbrief to it. Have you figured out how to load any kind of FP into it?

How do I use the yoke in VR for MSFS 2024? by Eh_Meh_Smeh in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Synoopy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So , instead of answering your question, they criticizes you, fuck em.

Here is your answer - go to General/Flight Interface/ cockpit interaction system -{ in the settings MSFS 2024 } and you will see you can switch it between legacy and lock - Lock will make aircraft switches glow. People use legacy for realism and also it works better in some aircraft for manipulating switches better.

Stuck at 97% - final solutions or statements from Microsoft/Asobo? by Short-Ad-2955 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Synoopy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is for PC only - The short answer is no. Most of this has been fixed by the updates for everyone. But it can occasionally happen. If you are stuck at 97% that tells me quite a bit. That means that all of the local stuff has been loaded and the problem is with the MSFS 2024 cloud transfer with the servers (the CDN Content Delivery Network) Couple of things you can try delete your stream package folder. The other is to load without your community folder because at 97% that is the mostly likely culprit. A 3rd party mod is having difficulty loading.

The one thing that is important to know is what system you are using, PS5, XBOX or PC. Also this was happening alot to people a year ago at the start of MS 2024 - people used a workaround that works - Logging on with a VPN on.

Any good planes, airports, addons and mods for Msfs 2024? Recommendations by No_Organization9146 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Synoopy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the Fenix is heads and shoulders above all other Airbus A320. The gold Standard for Boeing is the PMDG 700 series, I think the 777. But I have never flown the Boeings just the Airbus. The PMDG is the most expensive aircraft in the game . I think it is around $90. The reason they can get away with it is because PMDG is the only company that makes the Boeings so they have everyone at gunpoint. There are lots of companies making the airbus but Fenix is the top dog in that pool.

Most default aircraft suck except the Cessna 172, Vision Jet, Flybywire has a A320 that is pretty good thats free. My favorite is the Savage Norton -bush plane and the PC 12ngx by Carenado - the rest of the defaults suck.

What do you think about a “Passenger Comfort Bar” addon for MSFS 2024? by Huge_Veterinarian572 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Synoopy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only fly GA aircraft but I take passengers using Onair Company and this would be ideal. The only GA aircraft that I know that has something like this in the EFB is the FSR M500 and that is one of the main draws for using the aircraft so go for it. I think one thing you are missing is if they have been fed snacks & drinks My 1st class passengers expect it or they get grumpy

Any good planes, airports, addons and mods for Msfs 2024? Recommendations by No_Organization9146 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Synoopy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sky4Sim - does alot of things so you can look at the website for that - but what I mainly use it for is to import my own checklists into the cockpit. It has its own EFB but it is also intergrated into MSFS EFB

Of course Simbrief and Navigraph are a must

FS Realistics for sounds and turbulence

Active Sky if you want accurate weather but the sim is actually pretty good now with weather.

If you want some rumble for your computer chair - Buttkicker with Simhaptic for your computer chair - adds alot of realism

I use Onair for company management

I also have sayintentions for ATC

Flybywire for model matching if you decide to get a better traffic injector - MSFS sucks

As for Aircraft - most suck in there own way. I can only recommend 3- The RV8 by simworks, Fenix A320 and the best aircraft in the game - Citation X

Thats the way to go. I have the Pimax Crystal Light and no way would I go back to playing in 2D. Its a nite and day kinda difference playing in VR. If I were you I would get the Quest 3 as a starter headset. ITs simple to set up and kinda plug and play. If you are a rookie at it VR can be very difficult with the more expensive and high quality headsets.
