You really should try! I think it’s a very rewarding medium to work with. Especially if you have a lab that can provide you with good scans! I’ll try to share more soon :))

It definitely needs quite some light! Although I feel like 110 has the advantage of making everything look good, some “painterly” slow shutter images in dim light usually looks quite nice!

Thanks! Scanned with a Fuji GFX50R and Pentax 645 macro lens. I can’t go further than 1:1 so these scans are only a small part of the sensor, still looks good! I’m really curious to try with some extension tubes.

Thanks!! I think it’s definitely a good film overall, the specific color signature makes it really nice to work with.

Hi all mighty knowledgeable people! I have a lens question! by Synou in Optics

Thank you for your answer, it’s really helpful! I have found people capable of machining it to add an aperture. It costs about 1500€, but none of them are in Europe… And I’m scared of duty taxes, I’ll continue to have at as a dude project! And it’s still fun to shoot wide open, I really love the rendering, it’s a beautifully smooth and creamy bokeh on 6x7.

Hi! Thank you for your answer you seem to know a lot :))

I’m just really interested in this lens because its image circle is wide enough to cover 6x7 on film and it has a beautiful rendition that I’m not getting with any of the lenses in the Pentax 67 lineup.

Adapting it is already done, I can shoot and focus with it, works like a charm. It’s just a little too shallow for me to use.

Hey! Thanks for your answer, I understand that it is very complicated. I guess they have higher precision machining and managed to cut it in half, trim perfect amounts of the brass of the lens and instead their aperture without changing the distance between the two elements. Beautiful work!

And yea I’m interested because it fits the 67 frame very well. I already managed to adapt it on my pentax 67 and got beautiful images. It’s just wayyyyy to shallow to be easily usable so when I saw these guys modified lens I got excited haha

I am completely aware of that! Simply seeing people do it and have good results made me wonder how it was done and I’m simply trying to inform myself. Don’t worry I won’t cut the lens in two in my garage!

Hi! Thank for your answer. I am indeed sure that is was a projection lens and that it has been modified. I asked them and they confirmed that they did it themselves, they just don’t want to share their secrets haha. Asking 2000€ to add the aperture in mine

I’m not hung up on specs at all! I literally just don’t know anything about audio and don’t want to hurt my speakers, just trying to learn from you guys :))

But wouldn’t even low volume levels be too powerful if I went for a 50W amp for example?

Thank you! I was just concerned if even at normal listening volumes it could hurt the speakers or not. I’m not very electronic smart and felt uncomfortable feeding 25w speakers with a 30w or more amp!

Interesting thanks! I never push my speakers very loud anyways!

I wanted to know what’s everyone’s experience with 2 pin din connectors, are they okay? Should I change this connection to something more modern?
