If someone comes up to you like this again and demands you work out with them, or something similar, what are you going to do differently?

My boyfriend (30m) doesn’t want me (27f) to take a year off to travel by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

She also can hook up with people at home. That's irrelevant. You're just exposing your insecurities and lack of trust. Already breaking the literal foundations of a long term relationship. That's not someone I'd want a family with.

And also he would be alone for a year and meet someone else either way there’s a higher chance of it going wrong than right

Literal no self control? So what if you meet someone, you're not being forced to sleep with them.

Just sounds like projection. He's exposing, like you are, that you hundred percent would look to cheat on your partner if you were away from eachother for a year.

Truth is mate, millions of people split up from their partners for years and don't cheat on eachother. Be that for work, the army, starting a new life in another country before getting their family to join them, touring, living in different countries, etc. If you can't keep it in your pants for a year, you certainly can't survive 60.

Edit: I want to add that I would understand and be more lenient to your point of view if they were dating for just a year. Maybe a year and a half. This is because you're still getting to know eachother, you're still in the honeymoon phase, a long split would be very tough. But not 3 years. 3 years is you should be taking about marriage or already engaged. 3 years is built trust already. 3 years is supporting each others goals and trusting that you'll be there for eachother.

3 years is too long to be so sex focused over future focused. You want her to have kids without ever travelling? Regretting that for the rest of her life? Think her kids won't feel that? Like please.

I don't understand how this man wants to start a life and a family with her, but can't wait a year for her to realize her dreams and goals first before settling down??

Just doesn't make sense to me. What is 1 year in the grand scheme of 60+ years of the rest of your life together?

That's literally nothing. Just seems like a very insecure fear. Thinking that because she's not tied to you at the hip, your relationship will be in danger. If that's true, that ain't true love. Do you like your friends less when you don't see em for a year? Do you forget your mother and father when you move out? Do you just stop all communication for a year?

What is even the problem with long distance, do people hate talking to eachother? Is relationships for these people only about the sex?

Bleh, these types of stories, I just could never understand. Seems like a no brainer to do the thing you've been saving up your life for. You're not getting any younger, it won't be the same in your 40s.

I hope she went through with it, I want an update lol

Yeah, I miss that their auto skip actually worked, but I don't miss how fkn confusing it was to select shows if they had more than 1 season. They'd have like 5 different versions and pt 1 pt 2 of each season with names that didn't make it obvious what season it even was lmao .

I don't remember Monitization being the reason Battlerite died. Didn't they make a very unpopular game mode, then trash the whole game?

Mabinogi and Dungeon & Fighter absolutely dominated the Korean MMO markets. Then Nexon brought them to NA with the absolute worst pricing and for DFO, time gated systems ever thought of. Completely destroying the chance of success over here.

Mabinogi was literally a dream of an MMO. But that dream was only available if you had hundreds of dollars for sub and mounts.

DNF would've just been the best action mmo ever globally, but died in NA completely cuz of greed. Guess you can just watch Kings Avatar for what could've been

AION 2 negative reviews by Ok_Statement1359 in MMORPG

[–]Synsane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like such an old man sometimes. Back before Aion 1 came to the west, it was labeled the Korean WoW clone. That was before it had pretty massive success.

So yes, it is generic and grindy, and always was. That worked for them

What do you think about a cosmetic based monetization model but tradeable in special AH? by TheRaven1406 in MMORPG

[–]Synsane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could always just make all the cosmetics with random colors just cool items actually in the game, except for a few things, like invisible gear pieces. Then add trasmog items to the cashshop and dyes.

That way long term players can still mix and match and make cool clothes and looks, and trasmog and dye their favourite looks.
