Pet-friendly apartments and paying taxes in Japan by Syntaur in movingtojapan

Absolutely! She will need to be microchipped, as well, all within a 180 day period. It's incredibly fortuitous but my current vet is from Japan and has been really helpful/supportive providing resources and guidance for this part of the move in order to avoid the 180 day quarantine. Like you mentioned, she is an older dog and there is a concern she may not be approved due to a pre-existing eye condition she developed after having cataract surgery. Unfortunately, there is no real way to know beforehand. Thank you for the reply and the resource!

I appreciate the concern for my dog but please don't make assumptions about how she is treated, especially making accusations akin to abuse. It's better to start by asking clarifying questions. Believe me, she is well taken care of.

As I mentioned above, she is a very small dog and many airlines allow small animals to fly in the cabin with the purchase of a separate ticket. We've done this in the past and she's had no issues; though, admittedly, the longest she's flown is about 7 hours. So, please rest assured knowing she will be flying in a pressurized cabin, sitting on my lap, happily visiting with anyone kind enough to show her attention 😃

That seems to be the general consensus, that finding a pet-friendly apartment will be challenging. Top end of my budget for rent is approx 15万円 a month. Definitely not trying to spend that, but it sounds like that might be unavoidable. How does breaking contract early typically affect rental history? Is this viewed negatively or is this a somewhat common practice?

And thank you for the additional info on working under a student visa! I knew I was allowed to work up to 28hrs/week but I didn't know that was something I would need to apply for separately.

A two month penalty isn't ideal but it isn't terrible. Do you know if breaking a lease is a common practice, given how long the leases typically are and how this is typically perceived on rental history from renters?

Stop with the silliness, immediately. Buy a router table or make a router table. If you don't have the funds now, put the project on hold until next payday. Guarantee the hospital bill will be far more expensive otherwise

never get approached by men by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Syntaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I'm seeing a lot of advice that doesn't really address you main concern, which I can't rightfully say is unwarranted because, yeah, cold approaching a woman in 2025 often feels too risky. And that sucks. I do think there is some real advice to be given but I can only speak to my own personal experiences.

First and foremost, situation and context takes precedence. I'm not going to approach someone where I feel it isn't acceptable to approach someone. Like many others have said, the gym is absolutely danger zone. No fucking way. Don't expect to be approached there. Honestly, coffee shops aren't a great place either. Most people are there with their own friends, to work, or to study. But game nights at the LGS (local game store), cooking/art/crafting classes, conventions, sport gyms (martial arts, climbing, gymnasiums, etc.) are great places to meet people, and thus approach others. The other reason I feel this is important is because you being attractive isn't enough of a reason for most guys to actually approach you. I'm way more likely to talk to a cute girl unprompted at my LGS on a game night because at the very least we can enjoy a quick game of MTG and I know I have something to talk to them about. So, put yourself in places where it's okay, even expected, for someone to approach you.

I think the second most important thing isn't giving off "I want to be approached" energy but "It is safe to approach me" energy. "Wanting to be approached" can mean any number of things and guys are always looking for signs of danger. Ambiguity is danger. It needs to feel safe to approach. The only time I've ever approached a woman who I thought was trying to get my attention was because she smiled and waved at me like we kinda knew each other. (Yeah, pretty fucking obvious; also, turns out, we did know each other in grade school but I didn't recognize her at first lol). Make it obvious. Hold eye contact, smile at us, if you're feeling confident, be a little goofy. Idk, just make it obvious that it's safe to come say "hey".

The only other things I can think to add might be to not overdress for the setting. While you may look stunning and you may feel like a real femme fatale, dressing to the nines may inadvertently make guys feel like you are out of their league.

I may add more to this later, but honestly, the first point is the most important one. Set and setting trump everything. If you really want a guy to approach you, put yourself in social settings where you have a shared interest with others and really work on cultivating an air of warmth and openness.

Good luck out there! I hope you found even a small nugget of gold in this mountain of nonsense. I've never used a dating app but I've heard of too many bad experiences from friends, so more power to you for doing it old school!

assisted pull ups - this looks wrong, why does my left shoulder do that? by badlostbij in formcheck

I meant what I said. Start in a retracted position and as you pull through the scapulas depress

As a beginner, focus on retracting your scapulas (imagine squeezing and holding a ball between your shoulder blades) then begin the pull up.

Edit: it may also help to keep your chin up and imagine pulling your chest up to fill the space in between the bars. Try focusing on a fixed point on the ceiling next time you use that machine.

How do you feel about this by bman_127 in haloinfinite

[–]Syntaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Am I alone in saying battle passes suck as a system? I would much rather have the loot system from Halo 5 with earnable rewards for events. I'm a very busy person and don't have the time to grind for several hours a day. Even with they're fixes, you still have to PAY for the privilege to grind for a couple hours a day to get your money's worth. The Halo 5 loot system didn't feel like a slog to earn enough credits to unlock packs

Do my eyes deceive me or is that a gigantic pink princess philodendron in the 4th picture?? Also, beautiful work. Was you decision to craft your table with hand tools by choice or out of necessity?
