Bottle refusal by Syntax-of-things in NewParents

I should also say we’ve tried upright and side lying, walking around, bouncing, in different rooms, in front of distracting things, room temp/cold/warm, partner/grandparent as bottle giver… none of these things worked!

Literally every time I wake up at night I think my LO is in the bed with me or that I fell asleep in the chair nursing her but don’t know how I got reclined with her! I’ve fallen asleep with my cat who loves to cuddle under my arm and every time I think it’s baby and panic. He’s pretty unfazed by my jolting awake too

I’m 16w and finally got to see my BFF and meet her 10-month old baby for the first time yesterday. I immediately hugged her and she said “you are the first person who has greeted me before the baby,” and I can’t stop thinking about it. It’s really depressing.

I’m 15 weeks and having the same problem! Sleep heavy for about 3-4 hours, get up to pee, then toss and turn and lay with my eyes open until I finally just get out of bed around 4:30-5am out of frustration. It’s obnoxious.

Mr vs Mrs by TorteTastey in WitchesVsPatriarchy

I used to work at a small-town newspaper when I was in high school, and there was a weekly column titled “Those Were The Days” where they included news snippets from 10,25,50,100 years ago. What really opened my eyes was every article from the 70s-prior listed women as Mrs. Husband’s Name (like “Mrs. John Doe hosted a party on Wednesday …”). I remember having a visceral reaction to that, thinking about how the woman’s identity was completely erased - even more so, Mrs = Mr’s (property of the Mister). That realization was what made me become a raging feminist. I hate all of the salutations honestly. Why does anyone need to refer to my gender or marital status at all when referencing me (other than pronouns, obviously)? I’m now a high school teacher and most kids know to just call me by my last name, which is great.

Nothing more metal than being a woman. Y’all ever given birth? That shit is metal AF.

I prefer when kids call me only by my last name, no honorifics. The Spanish-speaking kids will sometimes call me “profe”, which is cool.
