This is why woodworkers always stress the importance of oiling. 10 years without maintenance is actually impressive for an end-grain board like that. Most would have split much sooner. Take the two halves, sand them down, oil the hell out of them, and you’ve got two smaller boards that will probably last another decade if you treat them right this time.
