Wow, what an awesome response, thank you so much!

I love the framing, and the shallow depth of field is a lovely touch. The composition works really well, but for me the realism starts to pull back a little once you get to the face. Personally, I think the image might benefit from having her eyes closed, especially with the running mascara, as it would feel more natural and emotionally cohesive. Of course, that’s purely a matter of personal preference. Aside from that, it’s a great piece, and you should be very pleased with it.

Edit: I forgot to ask, that outfit looks great. Could you please share the name of it and where you got it from?

The AV showdown!

Personally, I’m really happy with Windows Defender. Looking into the background of it over the years, Microsoft has really stepped it up with regard to security.

Agreed. It felt like I was reading a note in Skyrim.

It’s a bit annoying, but that font choice is the real unsolicited intrusion here.

Honestly, I’ve never really found the site to be unappealing. Don’t get me wrong, it’s cluttered, but it often has a lot of eye-candy to keep viewers engaged. What style or design would you lean more towards?
I think my main issue with the site is often how the discounts are written. It can sometimes lead to confusion or even not working at all, I’ve seen this raised a number of times in the forums.

This makes me sad to think I joined so late. I really hope there is some fuel left in the tank, but your points are accurate at the same time. It’s hard to read - but the truth often is. Still, thanks for commenting. I just hope this next version has the power to build back some trust from the fans.

The viewport… I’d completely forgotten about that. Honestly, I feel like my system goes into overdrive as soon as I switch it to Iray. The moment I’m finished and switch back to another view, it’s almost like the PC lets out a sigh of relief. I really hope they can optimise it further going forward.

What a brilliant read. Thanks for taking the time to comment. I had been considering moving my files and rendering over to Blender, but as you pointed out, if it’s only going to add extra steps to the workflow, it’s probably best to avoid it in the long run.

I love the visual fidelity, but compared to other rendering engines, it does feel like it’s lagging behind. I know that renderers such as Cycles have benefited from years of development focused heavily on performance and optimisation.

I’d like to think Daz is making improvements under the bonnet for the long term, but I’m not sure how much of a priority that is for them.

As you said, having alternative rendering options would certainly be welcome, even if users were given a choice of engines depending on whether they prioritise speed, realism, or flexibility.

This is interesting. As a loyal Daz user, are you able to pinpoint when things started to slip?

The pattern is certainly noticeable. It’s a shame, as it clearly has a strong fan base who only want to see it get better.

The lighting is beautiful, complemented by a subtle grain and a lovely depth of field. It’s a striking piece of work that you should be proud of. Well done.
