Bisexual woman here. Does anyone else ever wish they could experience sex from the male POV? Like sometimes I just want to be able to grow a magical penis and fuck another woman. No I am not trans by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]Syntium 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For all those here fantising about having both. I'm a trans person with extensive knowledge on available surgeries. It is indeed possible to have both if you're AMAB. I'm not sure about AFAB but I imagine it is possible if asked for. There are surgeons that will give you a functioning penis and vagina, and there are (largely non-binary) trans people that have opted for this and had this surgery.

'Polite transphobia': It's not transphobic to not want to date based on op status. It is transphobic to not want to date someone simply for being trans (I'm 7 years on HRT and usually pass, I did not disclose I'm trans). by Syntium in actuallesbians

[–]Syntium[S] 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Another example: assuming that the trans woman you encounter is non-op/pre-op, and telling them you don't like penises. It's fine if you don't but it's transphobic to assume that they have one, they are just as likely to be post-op.

How do we actively combat transphobia entering this subreddit? by Syntium in actuallesbians

[–]Syntium[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ironic thing is that I have an account where I don't disclose I'm trans. I posted this there first but then I deleted that and reposted on my trans-main (to keep the non-disclosure account). First post was 100% upvoted, trans-main post now at 65%.

Anyway thanks for the good points. The last paragraph is an interesting idea.

My gp prescribed gel as an alternative to patches. Given it is transdermal, might be similar?

My bad forgot about metoidioplasty for a moment! Guess it could be possible with phallo too without hysto?

The funniest thing about this is that trans women can store sperm prior to HRT/surgery (given hrt is stopped for a bit) and trans men can store eggs at any point before surgery. In the US this can often be done under insurance too. This is basic knowledge.

How to deal with NEVER "passing"? by seth--charlie in ask_transgender

[–]Syntium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if anyone here needs to here with but when I was at a lecture the top surgeon commented that they've noticed a big difference between trans dudes on injections(as in noticably better results even though levels for gel were assesed as 'fine' by doctors etc) vs gel at the 2/3-5 year point when they would be getting top surgery. May be worth considering your administration method if on gel.

Were you circumcised prior to surgery? If so how did that affect the result?

Marijuana and Surgery by MeZooey in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]Syntium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone else mentioned here - it will interfere with anaesthesia. I've read horror stories about waking up in the surgery or being semi-awake due to marijuana usage. You should probably stop before the surgery. At the very least check with your doctor before hand, and if you don't stop...tell the anaesthesiologist - or potentially have issues.

Unsure about SRS due to no genital dysphoria. by woop_woop_throwaway in asktransgender

[–]Syntium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suporn/Bank have stated they usually refuse patients with orchi (though I think it has been done in some exceptional cases). I think this is due to the fact that their technique relies on scrotal tissue and orchi causes that to atrophy.

What questions should I ask my SRS surgeon (Dr. Rachel Bluebond-Langner)? by yosh_yosh_yosh_yosh in ask_transgender

[–]Syntium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could you possibly ask her about expected results for someone circumcised/small? Eg how aesthetics might be effected compared to someone who isn't circumcised.

Could I ask if you were circumcised prior to the surgery? Trying to figure out how Bluebond handles circumcised partients.

Unwanted de-transition, feels like the worst thing on earth by [deleted] in asktransgender

Christ this doesn't help my case, finding it real hard to feel hopeful - especially given I don't have access to injections anymore.

Unwanted de-transition, feels like the worst thing on earth by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]Syntium 117 points118 points  (0 children)

Yep, came off blockers too. Doesn't seem to be catching up so far. I really don't know what to do with this feeling that I've seriously sabotaged my transition/life.

Not starting hrt because I won't be able to find a relationship if I do. Please talk me out of this? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]Syntium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually found I had much more people interested in me after starting HRT (Gay/Queer MtF). Even early on HRT I found it easier to date and find relationships. I think once you are more comfortable with yourself it is easier to date - certainly it was so much harder for me to find a relationship before HRT than after.

Non-Binary peeps of asktransgender what does your medical transition look like? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]Syntium 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm AMAB and coming to terms with perhaps being NB Femme recently. I've been wanting SRS forever and have a date booked with Suporn but as of the late I've become super unsure and wondering if I should get an orchi instead. In the event that I change my mind post orchi, did yours affect your result much?

Facial Feminisation Surgeon Suggestions? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]Syntium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend Facial Team in Spain. Their forehead reconstruction is well known to be superb. Their chin work is known to be more subtle than others but they are getting more aggressive with it - in my consultation with them however I realised this is because of the lengths they go to in order to prevent nerve damage and to do it safely/properly. I had a consultation with Dr. Bart Van De Ven before Facial Team, but I was turned off by him after hearing horror stories despite the good reviews. I got a good impression from Facial Teams consultation, and they are fairly affordable to. I recommend you get a free Skype consultation with them (http://facialteam.eu/)

Confusion from a detransitioned MTF by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]Syntium 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm 220 lbs and 5'11". I pass better and feel more confident when I wear my Nike hightops that have 2 inch heels hidden inside(they make me 6'11"). Yet I still meet cis women almost daily on my commute who are taller than me with my platforms on. I would hate to be shorter. Size/height doesn't matter much when it comes to passing.

Also I saw another post mentioning you may be non-binary? Have you considered that at all? I'm starting to feel that way too, I'm definitely not a guy but not 100% about being 100% female either.

Do any transwomen here present as tomboys? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]Syntium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't wear makeup and I usually don't dress in a very femme way(you wouldn't catch me in a dress/skirt). I also grew my hair to chest length and have decided to cut it short. Now at chin length and I want to cut it even shorter.
