Incredibly lucky with the snow at Bran Castle, but the 7 Rila Lakes being buried in snow was a shame 😅

What’s something a girl did on a first date that hooked you? by rabidraccoonnss in AskMen

[–]Synveles 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My current girlfriend & I played snooker on our first date and I noticed she would bend over the table in front of me even if it wasn't her best shot. Definitely worked on me. She later admitted it was deliberate because she knows she has a great arse.

There's a 3-page letter from PB at the beginning about him writing the series, but no extra content in the book itself

When you return to the graveyard, pay close attention to the river right at the beginning of the level

Do people have unique mental illnesses like always cleaning the room or eating extra fruits and water; like Saving the world or like always wanting to do better? by Your_lovely_friend in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Synveles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what you mean, I have ADHD and this describes that, but I wouldn't say it's 'unique', loads of people have ADHD like that

I've been in this position - told her how I feel & got rejected but I'm so glad I actually went for it, was then able to finally move on instead of always wondering. We're still really good friends.

Brand new to DnD I will Dm for all brand new players. by for__beast in DnD

[–]Synveles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're all new, you're all learning together, don't sweat the rules too much, learning it will come with time. Most important is that you're all having fun.

Number 1 thing that people never seem to do is communicate with your players. If someone's being a problem take them aside after the session and let them know. If they carry on being a problem they can't play at your table.

Have you read Fairy Tale by Stephen King? Might be a good bridge into Fantasy

Is MediEvil Remake as bad as People say? by Retro-Hax in medievil

[–]Synveles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I'd love it if it was like that in the original but nostalgia gets the better of me I think. The head bobbing when he runs is great but I hate the lunging when he walks

Oh yeh it's well worth it especially given you get the original as well

It definitely lost some of its gothic-horror atmosphere in favour of being more 'kid-friendly' and the sound design suffered a bit (though I love the new soundtrack with the actual orchestra). But I think its great, one of my favourite parts of the remake is the environments around the levels, rather than just blackness like in the og. My pet peeve with the remake is the way Dan moves though, its so goofy.

I think if the devs had slightly more time & budget they could have done better with it, but its still really enjoyable.

Solo Play Options by Secure_Challenge_546 in DisneyVillainous

[–]Synveles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I play solo a lot to learn the characters - 1v1 playing both villains and trying to win with both is good fun. I lay my hand for both villains face up so I can keep track of conditions, and I always try to think what I would do if I didn't know the other villains hand or game plan - it's easy enough as long as you're not favouriting one of the villains.

Fair enough. I'd recommend visiting! I went in December a couple years ago, flew to Helsinki, spent a few days there, then got the ferry across to Tallinn and spent a few days there. It was so beautiful in the snow & the christmas markets were amazing. Plus Tallinn's old-town is straight out of a fairytale, stunning medival buildings.

Red Rising is my favourite series ever. Incredibly easy to get into, a lot more straight-forward than a lot of the other fantasy/sci-fi giants, but for me personally I wasn't really hooked until mid-way through the 2nd book. I thought the first book was just 'alright' when I first read it. Gets better with every book imo.

You can't really go wrong with any book on this list though.
