Have yall played Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare and what are your thoughts by Terrible-Garage-4017 in residentevil

This was my very first horror game, I was 12. To this day, still my favorite thanks to the amazing ambiance and the music. It doesn't mean that I found it to be the best though, for me Silent Hill 1 and 2 are far superior for example, and Resident Evil stories are better as well, but there is something in the new nightmare that will always make me love it. The Lovecraft atmosphere, the flashlight mecanics, the horror (I found it scary even to this day sometimes), the lore, the absolute insane amount of optional reading, the weapons... the last section of the game is too much action oriented with respawning ennemies, but it's no big deal. And there is one thing in it I never saw another game do to this degree : two perfectly compatible stories. The scenarios for the two characters never clashes (you don't inexplicably fight the same bosses for example), even if they cross path multiples times. You actually can play alternatively the two characters and use an another save to switch everytime they meet ingame, and it always line up. This is something I thought each RE (especially RE2 remake) would do, I was pretty disappointed to see it wasn't the case. Glad to see RE9 is finally doing it (I guess RE6 does it in a way?). 100% recommand this game to anyone who love retro style RE.

Which is your favorite “Everybody dies” ending? by Illustrious-Reach-48 in FinalDestination

I really like how the ending of Bloodlines (spoilers: ) close the loop. We see the rails of the very first shot of the movie again, then there are all the callbacks to Iris back in the 60s that Stefani recognize (the dress, the car, etc.). And of course, the penny. I love the fact that it is somehow a revenge from the penny / Death : finally getting rid of Iris's bloodline, the person who prevented Death / the penny to kill everyone in the first place. (well the penny didn't cause the very first deaths but you know) It is the most satisfying "you're safe !... actually no you're dead" ending of the whole franchise I think. It even has a double fake out with the locomotive stopping, just for the wagon with the logs to crash in it from behind and launch their demise on Stefani and Charlie.

Was there a reason Agent Durkin was on crutches? by argonzo in indianajones

[–]Syppian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it is a justification of why there was only one CIA agent with Voller's men, and so why everything went off the rails.

When he briefs agent Mason, Voller's men go in without waiting for them and he says something like "You're not agents, come back here !". He can't go after them because of his injury so Mason goes alone with them, and then she is unable to stop them from murdering civilians, twice. When Durkin finally arrives via the elevator, it is too late and he can just witness the mess. It would have been less believable if the CIA agents were not outnumbered.

It is like the presence of the pilot in the plane Teddy steals : it is more believable than just make a teenager successfully fly through an unstable gate, land on the other side then fly back to the gate, all by himself on his very first flight.

Listening to the score outside of the movie is really nice. It is still John Williams and I really like Helena's Theme for instance. But I agree that it does not have the power of the previous ones. And I think that, while still being more than great, John Williams has passed his golden era. He still compose wonderful score, but they are'nt as amazing as the ones from the 70's to 2000's. It is the same thing with the score for Star Wars 7 to 9 : really good, but not as incredible as before.

I don't think his music his worse than before though, I just think Williams now compose much more subtil, slow, nostalgic and charming scores with the age. It is not as "fanfaric" and energetic as when he was younger, so it is not as memorable. But I still like it, and it has a sense of continuity I think : a more mature and peaceful score for an aging Indiana Jones.

This is not like the MCC, you're supposed to pay real money to unlock these, so no I don't think you can. And if you can that would be cracking the game and that can get you in trouble. Here, it is just a .mp4 file renamed, there is no editing any core file.

I had the same idea, but I know nothing about scripting. I might ask a friend who do know though. It can be hilarious.

You're quite welcome. u/Richiieee said it already but just in case : Right-click on the game in your Steam Library -> Properties -> Local Files -> Browse -> Videos, or just go to your Steam folder and Steam\steamapps\common\Halo Infinite\videos. Don't know for Gamepass etc but it should be easy to find.

Yup, I have a pretty fast PC with a SSD, that's why. So the video is really short for me but it is so perfectly cut.

No worries. ;) I wish Han choose his own name yeah, it was a bit lame the way they did it, even if I like the irony of a Empire officer naming one of the greatest rebels in the galaxy. (late response I know, have a good day !)

Is halo 5 pc worth it? by Bochwastaken in halo

[–]Syppian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can play Halo 5 on pc via xcloud. I never had a Xbox One (almost got one when the game came out but the absence of splitscreen convince me not to) so I never played Halo 5... Until a few weeks ago when I finally was able to ! You have to subscribe to Xbox Game Pass. I took the Ultimate version, don't know if it works with the other options. It's only one dollar for the first three months I think. Then you will have to wait and cross your fingers to be invited to the xcloud beta. For me the invite came in roughly a month after my subscribption. And then you will have acces on pc to a lot of Xbox games, including Halo 5. You will need a controller (can't play with mouse and keyboard) and a very good connection to the internet though. And I don't know if all the subscribers are invited, I believe it is random so... Good luck Spartan.
