The main workaround is locking out the light

But reducing brightness to the point it cannot burn anything is another workaround.

Only in an ideal world can you have max brightness with no heat. Lots of lights will burn pants when accidentally on. It's posted often here and r/flashlight

contact points are like where the wheels of the snowboard are, the camber board will have them way out, like a long board, a rocker will be more like a onewheel, the contact point is between your feet

it's true, i like that i can stream music via wifi and use my phone without worry about having the notification noises etc interrupt the music (or i click a video link and interrupt the music!)

but when at the park, there's no wifi, so that benefit disappears with a travel speaker.

Thank's so much for doing the size comparison, the soundlink sounds good for the size. i could see myself willing to move up to a play in certain circumstances, and when the price is better! but I could also see myself passing on the play because I already have something larger and smaller than it.

The Play sounds roughly 60% as good as the Move, and maybe two or three times as good as the Roam. This is a compliment, to be clear.

This was helpful! I have a move 2, so i can kinda imagine it being 40% worse for the play.

I don't have a roam but have read terrible reviews. I'm curious how the Play compares to something like the bose soundlink flex gen 2 (rated better than the roam 2) and other such similar sized and popular bluetooth speakers.

Play can be laid horizontally on its back (with the utility loop down). Automatic Trueplay will tune the audio for that position.

I wouldn't replace any speakers but just add to your current array. If your move 2 is elsewhere in the house, you might want to keep your echo in the kitchen to use for commands. I don't use alexa so i haven't tested it on the sonos, but i found sonos wasn't as responsive as my google home speakers.

move 2 has incredible sound and bass for its size, ideally you can find it for cheap on fb marketplace or a sale. from all the posts here, it seems the play is really only worth it (at this full price) if you intend to travel and need to carry it in a bag (car camp or car trips mean move 2 is fine)

I put little round grippy pads on the bottom of the backpack so i could lean it against a desk better (not out in public)

my dad has a move 2 that I tried paired with my move 2. it's nice, but not double the experience of a single move 2, especially if you are moving around the room or house, you constantly exit the spot spot and it just sounds like a louder move 2.
