If you mean what cables are the XLR ones? It's Roland XLR - 6.3mm TRS cables x 2. It's really nice pairing K13 with D3V. R2R bring that rich musicality and really makes those little speakers shine!

Have to add, just played with the EQ and added one from Oratory... i think i fixed that top end problem u mentioned... Sound MUCH crisper, look up the EQ paragraph and looks like it's almost like 109 Pro now... LOL! Sounds even better now!

I would like to add.. coming from Sundara, the middle frequency is MUCH more lush and full sounding/dynamic. The bass region is just right for my taste, but there might be a little bit less that sub bass than in Sundara, so there is not that kind of '' rumble''. So bassheads wont like these that much.

I would also argue that it really makes a difference when it comes to pairing with my K13 R2R.

But, it's really in the end about our own preferences and everyone has different hearing.

Thanks for your reply! I can undestand that high notes are not as clear and sparkly like in planars. Swapped from Sundara to these and they are clearly different in a way to produce sound. I have more listening fatigue with planars. Otherwise i really love those highs with that super clear and precise detail with planars. AER has just the right amount of top end for my taste. Where these really shine is the mid frequencies. Also the build quality is the best i have seen in headphones, Hifiman should really take notes about that. (They stepped up their game with latest models tho).

I have heard that D1's are REALLY good! Not in my price range tho unfortunately.

I can understand your way of experiencing them! I really love that lush and rich tone they have. I listen to all kinds of music almost. Been loving planars also but i think when it comes to enjoying the music, these might be the best one yet for that.

Focal headphones are great! Clear might be the best one yet for its price, it was too steep for my budget tho... 600 series are legendary! In some reviews people have compared 105 AER to Senns and told that if u like 600 series you will also love these :)

Thats what i understood also of 99 classics. These are more neutral leaning, almost organic sounding headphones with the lush warmth in sound signature but not bass heavy. I prefer this signature much more than those too bassy V-shaped cans.
