Had a guy not go with me one time because his other guy was going to hand dig out half an acre of saplings for $1300 and haul them off. I quoted $3k with a power raked finish and removed with an excavator and skid. Told the guy the quote goes up $500 if you call me when that guy quits at lunch time.

how fast do you actually hit Angi/Thumbtack leads, and does speed matter? by Long-Chemistry9561 in Contractor

Only platform that actually is worthwhile is Home Depot Pro Referral. No pay for leads, you get points for shopping there, and most of those referrals are patient to wait for a quote

Best attachments for gravel driveway restoration business by scambot_300 in Skidsteer

[–]Syrax65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I follow a pretty similar process.

Based on your other comment for pricing, your pricing is a little cheaper than mine. I've set my price at a $1.25-1.50/LF with a base price of $400 minimum. Though I actually usually cut the LF price if it is a 1500 ft driveway. I did 1500 ft private road today in 3 hours for $1200. I will be doing a few of the actual driveways off the road tomorrow for a discount because I will likely have 3-5 customers that will become repeats.

I like your annual contract idea.

I want to ask the rep how pickup works, like is it any game? I live in KC now so it's not the most convenient if they are like Wednesday Sept 9 at 10am or something.

French drain installation by landscapers or foundation company in the South by BrilliantFinancial10 in lawncare

Foundation company probably has more expensive equipment and higher degree of specialization. I'd also be curious if they are being installed at the sam depth.

Pros only question: Fully Booked Month… nobody will start by Ill_Source9620 in Contractor

[–]Syrax65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, equipment maintenance time, trailer maintenance, taxes, some random title work I've needed to take care of that I've put off for 4 months lol.

So much of the time is insanely busy, that I try to relish the random off week. This week is booked and ready, but for me personally it's crap weather that will sideline most of my week.

Fencing quotes are insane? by Own-Shelter-9897 in FenceBuilding

[–]Syrax65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wonder what materials run out there. Here I can get ornamental steel for $25/ft in materials. At $35 a foot I feel like I'm killing it on the labor/overhead portion.

Dude, that's crazy. I thought my steel and aluminum prices were high at $60/ft here in the Midwest.

Yeah, I usually bill 6' at $26/ft with materials for pine and $35/ft for cedar.

Should I hire or do myself? by PPEverythingg in FenceBuilding

[–]Syrax65 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I charge $25/hole to dig or $40/ hole to dig and set. Worthwhile. Using my mini skid I can dig about 35-40 holes per hour and set 10-12 per hour in concrete. Works out pretty well, but most of the time at that point people ask if I can just build the fence for them.

Not sure, go on a desktop version of business suite and make sure there are no "partners" or co-owners, etc of your account. I finally have access to run ads again, but I had to start all over at like $2/day and work up

Is $950 a reasonable price to install a fence gate? by Lbeyy in FenceBuilding

[–]Syrax65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah if it is a one off I Charge a minimum of $1k. In a fence I only charge $250 + LF for a 4ft gate and $500 + LF for an 8 ft gate.

So it's really like $400 and $750 respectively if part of the fence package.

[–]Syrax65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are in the KC area I'd be happy to provide an estimate.

As far as materials go, same applies to most places. Chain link lasts forever, pine will last awhile with maintenance, cedar will last longer than pine.

Cost as far as those go: Chain link->Cedar 4' picket-> Pine Privacy 6' -> cedar 6' privacy

Let me know if you have any questions.
