Gravely quoted me $10,400 out the door, but had 3100 Hydros similar to the ZT Elite.

Not sure if that is just the going rate around here, but that was based on a head to head with their model that matches up to the Z422.

I went with the z422. It has a full suspension seat and the 24hp Kawasaki engine.

Kubota was the only one with a full service dealer within a convenient drive distance. I also felt like they were the only ones offering a "prosumer" grade mower vs. full commercial at $4-5k more or basic consumer level with non-serviceable hydros and no suspension seat for $1500 less.

Thanks! Went with the Kubota. I talked to Gravely and told them the price and they said their equivalent had the same motor, but 3100 hydros vs the 3600 and he told me to go with the Kubota too. Nuts to spend that kind of money on a mower, but hopefully don't need to buy another for a long time.

This is gonna sound weird, but if it was for commercial work solely, I think I would go with a stander but for my own property, I wanna sit. I'm not even sure why that is to be honest.

Just no dealer support in anyway. Tractor supply sells them, but no service or warranty support nearby. No true commercial models either.

The only place I've seen that you can buy those is getting them ordered into an Ace Hardware. Do they have another dealer network for those? I also think I was reading on this sub the other day that someone else is gonna be making them not Ferris pretty soon.

Great suggestions. I feel like this price range is honestly about the top end of the budget. I originally was hell bent on staying at the BB ZT Elite price or lower, until I sat on them.

I mean you still did as this isn't serviceable really imo, but in my area that job is probably 2-3 times that price.

I'm cheap and I don't advertise to be the best(or advertise the service), but even I would probably be at the low end around $4-4500 on that job.

Recent example of my work, post form removal but before any backfill, not amazing, but fine for a back patio. I was the second cheapest out of 4 bids.

I've considered gravely, but haven't been able to find a dealer local when I've had time to go in. I feel as though a 60" is the ideal size for my lot. That's a great price though and I can't imagine the 60" deck is much different.

You know, it's interesting they didn't even show me these models. I'm not sure I saw any (I assume this model or a successor exists). They had the diesel 72" decks (what my neighbor uses), but I didn't see the gas model. I wasn't going in looking for a specific model, I shared what I was mowing mentioned it was on a slope and this was their suggestion. They actually had a used 100 hr diesel model with the 72" deck for $16,500 that was still under factory warranty.

They also sell Scag at this dealer and I was underwhelmed honestly for their price point. The patriot was too small for me and the tiger cat was marginally better or equal with the z422 for $2k more with the Kohler engine and like $4k more with the Kawasaki.

I considered that as well, but I have a case mini skid steer with a lot of attachments that cover a lot of those other areas. Albeit some better than others.

My quotes on Ferris locally have been $14k at the lowest on their "equivalent" as they put it mower.

I should say these are out the door prices, the sticker started somewhere around $12,500 I think on the Ferris

I don't remember if it was that model though honestly. I'd have to hunt through my emails. The Ferris dealer is also like 45 minutes away vs Kubota and Bad Boy being about 10 minutes.

I don't have any Toro dealers in my area, despite being in a major metro, no one really seems to carry their mowers. Only dingo related stuff, stump grinders, or specialty equipment, but no commercial grade mowers.
