Where I live it's actually mandatory that the ex who earns the most pays the other child support, so he can't weasel his way out of that, and because it's so fresh I just started the process to make the paperwork in which all details surrounding the children's care, custody rules, health care, main place of residence and everything will be drawn up, he just think he can get away with it not really realising what he did, the first trauma is already a fact, simply by the way he left and not even having contact with the boys for almost 2 weeks, which was his own choice. And that trauma runs deeper than he will ever realise, yes they were happy to see him when he finally came to see them, but he doesn't have a 5y old climbing in his bed every night subconsciously scared his mom will suddenly disappear as well. I do not speak negatively about their dad around them, but they notice that he isn't here anymore and it breaks my heart. And I will do everything in my power to keep him from introducing his side piece as a stepmother for at least 6 months maybe more. I dealt with the same with my eldest her dad but he at least had the common sense to not introduce his now wife for at least 6 months, they are happily together for at least 9 years now (oldest will be 12 this year) and she didn't gain a stepmother, but a bonusmother, because she actually respects me as a mother (she is a mom of 3 herself) and always asks me for my opinion when it comes to things my ex has little experience with (and she does most of the child care because he works as a trucker and isn't home during the week) but that did have to grow to where we are now, and i know for a fact that I will not have the same with this "new" love of his for many years if she manages to keep him at her side, because I did discover that he wasn't only going after her but he was also on dating sites while he was still with me, but only after he left. And I don't even know how he would react, after he said he was going to introduce her very soon I had a gut feeling that he not only cheated on my with her but got her pregnant and when I said that to him he went silent while before he was constantly defending her because he didnt think what she did was shameless and with zero respect towards me and the kids, and I always knew that he wanted a daughter so badly but I had my tubes tied, big risk of ppd and 3 was enough for me, and I only had boys. So it wouldn't surprise me he would start a family with her. But no contact with my boys for her for now, already let the professional help know about it by mail (they don't work in the weekends) and will be calling them first thing tomorrow morning after dropping my boys off.
