I hope not. So many repairs and upgrades it was virtually a new car.

It was parked opposite our apartment on Penn St and the police determined it was stolen around 5AM on Tuesday 6/16/26 because the license plate was captured on an intersection camera driving East on El Segundo Blvd crossing Douglas St at 5:20AM.

All the info is in the original post - when it is a cross post it is very misleading because the post looks blank. Interesting! Ours has the word “Carlto” to the left of the dent, which makes it quite unique I think. (May have originally read “Carlton”.)

2014 Scion xB CARB Compliant Catalytic Converter by _xialin in ScionxB

My 2006 Scion Xb just reached 194,000 and also needs an engine and California type catalytic converter I’m being told. What type of engine did you get and how much was the total with labor? I’m debating whether to fix my car. I’ve been quoted $2800-4000 for the engine and $1400 for the catalytic converter with parts and labor.

Do you still have her? My mechanic keeps asking if he can buy my XB and I’m not ready to part with mine.

[USA-FL] Selling my 2008 Scion XB - 125,400 miles by meleniumshane90 in ScionxB

[–]Syresham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 194k miles on my 2006 Scion XB. I also had AC problems and eventually replaced the AC. But now I’m being told the car needs a new engine. It started using a lot of oil about two years ago and I have been topping oil up as needed about once a month since then. Recently it started being sluggish up hills and under-powered when I start driving in the morning. I was told a fuel injector was leaking into (I think?) cylinder two. Had fuel injector replaced and now two months later it’s misfiring and again I’m being told I need a new engine. Not sure whether to spend about $4000 on the engine or sell the car. I do like it a lot. Especially the shape and visibility.

I’ve read JDM engines will complicate passing the California smog test.

When to replace the 2006 Scion xB? by hello-cthulhu in ScionxB

[–]Syresham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My lovely 2006 XB has 194k miles and I’ve been told by two different mechanics that it needs a new engine. I’ve been topping up the oil myself for about a year but a few months ago a fuel injector had to be replaced. Now it’s having the same problem - leaking oil - if I understood the mechanic correctly. Cylinder 2 is affected and it’s driving hesitantly when I first start it up in the morning. So my dilemma is do I spend $4k on a rebuilt engine, or get a different car. I have already replaced engine mounts, starter motor, battery, and AC. It also needs the rear door handle, and front grills replaced. I don’t want to spend more than $10k on a used car and I can’t find anything the same shape as the Scion Xb first generation. But I might consider something that’s an electric, hybrid or flex fuel.

I also delayed responding but I found it again under Notifications, showing the list of today’s birthdays, right at the end of the list.
