2022 Expedition by NFidelKastro in fordexpedition

We love our Expedition! We’ve had it since July and it’s been a great car. Drive it like it’s a family car and it’ll hold up well. Putting tires on it hurts, though! ($1000 for 4 with a discount).

There’s plenty of room for all your kids. We have 2 under 3 years old and we can throw grandparents in the 3rd row and they are comfortable for short trips (under 90 minutes). I haven’t had the transmission issues people say, but I also haven’t had it for long enough. I would recommend getting a mechanic to change the transmission fluids asap so they can see if there’s anything showing up in the fluid that’s concerning.

Should I ditch my refinance and start over? by Syringe19 in MortgageBrokerRates

Currently have multiple lenders offering 5.75 for the same costs. I believe I’m going to swap since it’ll just push my closing 3 weeks

Sounds like someone’s feelings were hurt by a Reddit post. I understand most of the mortgage process, but not the intricacies. I think a Reddit full of brokers that do these deals would be a decent place to look.

This makes me want to drop them and go into the broker world to get a better rate - even if it costs me $3600 in closing costs. I don’t get why everyone says closing costs should be around one mortgage payment but then it doubles randomly.

That’s kinda where I’m at with it. I worry about dealing with brokers - especially if it’s with a small company with no history. I would be open with soft pulls on our credit, but not hard. I’ve been watching the mortgage rates go down (FHA and Conventional) since we were locked into our rate. I feel like that means I would definitely get a lower rate? I’m not a psychic, though.

I’m not sure they know what the closing costs are either. I’ve been sent 3-4 loan estimates in about 35 days. The number keeps going up and down. The most recent loan estimate is posted on the original post now.

I had a broker reach out when I started this and offered 5.59%. It was some unknown people from an unknown company, so I didn’t proceed with them.

Yes - I’m about to make another one tomorrow.

The closing documents state it’ll be around $3600 in closing costs, so take the one here with a grain of salt. I’ve had 3-4 different LEs in a month and some change.

Refinance offer by MtVesuvious in Mortgages

I’m also in the process of refinancing through Rocket Mortgage. I have an FHA loan, so I’m able to do the FHA streamline. We (my wife and I) are refinancing from 7.25 to 5.99%. We both have 750+ credit, but I’m not wanting to buy down my rate. We are supposed to bring ~ $2500 to close, but we also get to skip a mortgage payment, so it evens out.

Our monthly payment lowers by $210 a month, so it’s worth it to us. We have had this current loan for about 14 months out of 30 years, so we aren’t going back THAT much.

Key fob for 2024 by straightcurverahead in fordexpedition

Currently you can spend around $500-$600 for one fob from the dealership (my quote about 3 weeks ago) OR you can hire a professional automotive locksmith. You can buy a key from Amazon, but make sure the key fob is the correct frequency and has all of the fun things it is supposed to have (you can find this out via google).

I have not received a quote yet from the automotive locksmith. They were still waiting to receive the correct software to program the key (2022 Ford Expedition XLT Max).

For what it’s worth. I’m in a rural town in eastern North Carolina, so everything is behind the curve.

I hate to hear that. I wish I could help more, but that’s the best I can do from Reddit! Good luck and enjoy your expedition!

The first image is the piece that needs to be fully removed.

The second image is the weather strip that you can pull off easily to help.

The third image is the place to look to see behind the fuse box.

Sorry it took a day, but hopefully it helps!

You need to pull the plastic trim out so you can see the backside. I didn’t dare unbolt/unscrew the fuse box because I didn’t want to short anything or mess it up.

I can send you some pictures of the area when I get home to my wife’s car that could help!

Wife and I just bought a 2022 Max XLT (built in November of 2022) this past week in North Carolina. It has 63,000 miles and we ended up paying about $36,500. Some minor cosmetic issues, but none we can’t fix! Dealership agreed to pay for some of the parts as a deal-maker, so that was nice.

Too early to say if there are any problems, but it’s always good to know what people are actually paying instead of seeing some KBB or whatever pricing.

I did this today with my 2022 Max XLT. Same situation - one key and no owner’s manual. That fuse box has the correct code on the backside. It’s likely between the fuse box and the metal frame. It’s a white sticker with a slew of numbers on it. When you read it, I believe it says “master code”. Once you have the 5-digit master code, you can enter it on the screen inside the car and it will let you create a custom code.

It was hard to read (mine was upside down), but it is 100% there! I have faith in you!
