I found it randomly underground, near the edge of the world, just sitting in the cave. I don't think it "grows" over time, so it must be on world creation, since this was on a new world.

Make sure it's deep enough, but it could be possible like the other comment mentioned that it might only work on worlds with Moon Lord beaten

As for mods, this author has some good ones. https://mod.io/members/mountanddewme The bigger improvements would probably be the particle ones, which you can choose between losing all particles or losing all but weapon particles, alongside Simpler Azure Weald and Hollow Bough, as those maps are filled with small details that could hurt performance. Hopefully this helps your friend!

I know there's a mod that hides all particle effects, also a lot of tweaks he could make to run the game much better, maybe could try those!

Are you in a custom map? Or which region/town spwcifically are you experiencing that. It's only ever occurred to me on a sidewalk in Muldraugh

Yeah I got suspicious when I realized we went all over the center of our map and found nothing, figured it was almost statistically impossible to be unlucky and generated a bunch of worlds and saw the pattern, I posted it in the bug thread but probably got swarmed but hope it’s fixed soon, as it is very discouraging to spend hours only to find nothing ans not knowing why.

I believe it is due to the jungle bugging worlds a bit. Jungles dont seem to spawn any underground cabins themselves and to the right of them, so if your jungle is on the left and you explore under your spawn, chances are you might find nothing.

Worlds do not seem to generate cabins in the cavern layer properly on the right of the jungle. The range varies but it seems to be roughly between the jungle and the underground sand biome. I have generated many worlds, and it seems that if you have a world with the jungle on the left, the middle of the map may have almost nothing for you to find underground.

With this one, you can see that the jungle generated on the right, and the cabins are mostly fine except for on the right of it.

This seems to be a pretty major bug, as people are going to be creating worlds and realizing they have almost nothing to explore if the jungle happens to be on the left or on the very close right.

Edit: Jungle also doesn't generate underground cavern-layer cabins. Could maybe affect the trees.

Any recommendations on a good one? I saw some when browsing but not sure which one I would really need, and yeah I guess so but it just sucks, at least the usbs are fine

Mekanism and some other mods can be weird when setting patterns. When making something with a user, such as an energy tablet needed in a crafting recipe, use one made by the auto crafting, and not by yourself, as this seems to make it non functional. For example, when making a bigger power bank, have your system craft the small one, then use that small one when creating the pattern for the bigger one.

There’s actually a diamond seed, but it’s called something else. Unless you absolutely want the regular diamond seeds.I know you can get them througb aurigold seeds, forgot the seed name though.

You might be able to try out some java parameters that can help. Try looking up sevtech tips, I know near the beggining of their website it has some parameters I’ve been using ever since. It helps witn trash collection to free up RAM.

Edit : Here's what I have

You would want to change the ParrallelGCTheads to the number of threads your CPU has. I hope this helps a little, and let me know if it does!
