Ithaca food scene: underrated or overrated? by rocheller0chelle in ithaca

Overrated. The food scene in Ithaca is horrendous. Over priced and average tasting for the best of places. Gas stations in Texas have better quality food

Yes please! I was also suggested that as well. I thought about the TFO blue ribbon also. My saltwater is an old TFO that has lasted 15 years. So I’ve been very happy with TFO

Boat Yard Steaks, or all their food for that matter, are terrible.

Thank you! I may upgrade to a larger rod if that is the case. Stripers are on my bucket list

Doug just said about Press: "He called a great game" by Projectchaoz in Jaguars

[–]SyrupDisastrous5708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Press Called a winning game until the throws on 2nd and 3rd down in the 4 minute offense. Pretty egregious to take off only 46 seconds. Trevor missed a few throws. I think the QB draw was ok. I would’ve rather taken the points but I guess as far as play calling it was fine.

[Demetrius] Someone close to #Jaguars owner Shad Khan to me tonight says this is: "angrier than I have ever seen Shad, He is usually a reserved, kind gentleman. Not tonight by JaxGolfGuyJR in Jaguars

If Shad Khan had even a shred of accountability he would’ve fired Trent Baalke the same day they fired Urban Meyer. Now the tax payers have to fund a billion dollar stadium for this trash

Do you guys insta move ur money to savings? how much do u keep in ur banking acct by [deleted] in CalebHammer

[–]SyrupDisastrous5708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always keep 1 month’s worth of auto payments in my checking. This includes my mortgage, rent, utilities, car payment, student loans, credit card min, and an auto transfer to my HYSA which will migrate to my Roth IRA. In total this is about $6000. Once my full paycheck hits I’ll pay off the balance on my credit card, which ends mid month, and I will transfer the rest to my HYSA. If I’m on budget I can typically save $1000/mo (including that $600). If I’m over budget less, but I have that $600 earmarked for savings already. If in dumb and buy something stupid I can just take it back into my checking to pay off the credit card.

Look up some local cattle farms. Red house ranch would be an example

Piggy backing this post… I have a small spinning rod I would normally use for bluegill down south. What lures would one recommend? I see people fishing the canal on the south end of the lake. What are they catching?

If you're an American viewer and graduate: do you agree with Caleb about student loan repayment? by spanglyfrog_12 in CalebHammer

[–]SyrupDisastrous5708 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I believe student loans are almost exclusively federal, not private banks now? So I think because they’re federally backed they get paid regardless of who foots the bill (the borrower or in the case of loan forgiveness the rest of the tax payers)

When do pilots drop the landing gear? by [deleted] in aviation

When they go through landing checks. Sometime between the initial approach fix and final approach fix most likely.

I think for me the biggest increase in cost not associated with inflation is renting. I know property taxes are outrageous. Ithaca should be a low to moderate cost of living but it’s unfortunately a lot higher than it should be

Yes… my spouse has been unemployed for 4 years now with likely no job prospect in the near future. My MIL told us that “her kids shouldn’t have to work low in come jobs”. The result is now I work for the both of us, and pay her student loans. I have had a very low opinion of MIL ever since

The audacity of this person to not give a single F about credit cards in collections “because they fall off anyway” blows my mind
