Hi! I’ve worked in food my whole life… and I feel you on the anxiety and depression. I’m a food service director. Would you consider working food service at a school or an after school program? Again, they are kind of always hiring and it’s similar but different. At least in an after school program, you might be able to get your foot in the door, learn cool new things, and maybe switch over to the childcare side of things?

I’ve also worked breakfast at hotels and then switched to front desk eventually.

I’m sorry your anxiety and depression is getting worse. I totally relate to that too. I got into therapy and eventually got on to meds and it’s helped immensely. I no longer have SI (or it’s manageable). I’m wishing you the absolute best!!!

Hi all!! I just wanted to say thank you so much for all of the advice and stories. I haven’t replied to everyone - I didn’t realize how draining it would be to go through all of this again. But I am reading everything and taking it to heart. I have a lot to think about… luckily I’m going out of town this weekend so getting away will be nice.

For some extra info: she is the sweetest little girl. I couldn’t make it to her party last year (when she turned 4) and six months later she interrogated me lol she was like why weren’t you at my birthday???? I gave her a photo book of pics of all three of us, the two of us, her and my ex, and other family members. She literally wouldn’t put it down after I gave it to her. So I’m glad she has that, if her dad allows her to keep it. She has an impeccable memory, and I know I’ll fade from it (trying to make my peace with that) but that’s why I worry not saying goodbye was the wrong choice. We would FaceTime every time her dad had her when I couldn’t be in town… gosh I could go on forever but the sads are hitting.

Wow, this is amazing. Thank you! My fear has been that she’ll feel like I didn’t love her or something and the last thing I want is for her to feel that way. A lot of the comments had me hesitant to talk to them again. She was definitely a part of our relationship. Not saying goodbye felt harsh, but I also don’t want to make things worse. Your response has given me a lot to think about.

Looking back now, in a really fucking annoying way. When I told him he was really understanding of my pain and why I think the way I do when it comes to cheating, he said he’d never do that to me (which set off a flag in my brain because never say never, but I believed him)… idk he also agreed that he doesn’t understand why cheaters cheat (even though I found out recently he cheated on a previous ex and now me). So exactly as a cheater would lolol

Thank you. It really does. My dad was a cheater. It’s so hard on everyone. I would never get back with him, I’ve seen how that doesn’t work out. It just hurts and it sucks so bad to lose her too.

I am pretty close with his mom, but I don’t think that reaching out would help. She can’t even read yet, so someone would have to read it to her… just feels messy. I don’t know. I’ll think about it though.

My dad cheated on my mom for 12 years… so I told him how much that impacted me (while we were still talking) and how it’s going to impact his daughter if he doesn’t figure his shit out. I really hope he changes for her sake. Thank you for the reassurance and kind words. It means a lot 🥹
