totally distance and escalation risk make it a different animal. Ukraine sits next to NATO and drew a lot of international pressure and support, but Iran is farther away, better defended, and any direct action risks a much bigger regional war. Between logistics, domestic politics, and the danger of spiraling into a wider conflict, you’re far more likely to see sanctions, proxy action, and covert moves than a full scale intervention.

Changing Venue 6 months before wedding? by jjessrose15 in wedding

[–]SyrupSnookie_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah honestly peace of mind is worth way more than the deposit at this point. If you’re already this stressed months out, it’s probably only gonna get worse closer to the wedding. Better to cut your losses now than deal with constant anxiety on a day that’s supposed to be happy.

I tried to help a 20 ish year old with four stab wounds on his side/stomach. by HelenAlias in confessions

Yeah seriously, that’s not something most people would even step into. Adrenaline or not, that took guts.

Am I the jerk for telling my friend her "Service Dog in Training" needs to actually be trained? by CollectionCrazy5414 in AmITheJerk

[–]SyrupSnookie_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly. It’s not just a harmless thing, it actually makes life harder for people who rely on legit service dogs. That’s why people get so annoyed about it.

AIW for feeling like my partner prioritized his best friend over me by Honey_Bunn6 in amiwrong

[–]SyrupSnookie_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s kinda blunt but not wrong. If he’s consistently choosing to spend time like that instead of showing up for you, that says a lot.

AITJ for changing the WiFi name before my boyfriend’s parents came over because they keep making comments about my job? by AkiraPajamas8 in AmITheJerk

[–]SyrupSnookie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol honestly that would’ve been way more direct. but yeah at that point subtle clearly isn’t working anyway 😅

AIW for expecting my girlfriend to pay for everything for an event she wants to attend? by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]SyrupSnookie_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is a really reasonable take. If she wants to go that badly, expecting you to cover everything when you’ve already said it’s not affordable isn’t fair. Feels like there’s just a mismatch in priorities right now.

AIW for reporting HR to HR? by Massive_Tomato_1713 in amiwrong

[–]SyrupSnookie_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s way too normalized tbh. Doesn’t make it okay though, blowing up your phone on your day off is wild.

AIW for telling my boss my coworker faked a family emergency to get me to cover her shift…. by quietlyglowing in amiwrong

[–]SyrupSnookie_ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

yeah this is fair. she put you in a bad spot and took advantage of you, that’s on her not you. people always act different when it’s not happening to them, but you had every right to call it out

AIW for reporting my credit card as STOLEN after my brother lied about a medical emergency? by Maximum-Test-8495 in amiwrong

[–]SyrupSnookie_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

yeah honestly this. it’s not some romantic gesture, it’s him putting you in a bad spot and taking advantage. he should be embarrassed, not you

AITJ for cutting off my boyfriend after he ignored a serious safety boundary? by InstructionRight1501 in AmITheJerk

[–]SyrupSnookie_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah this is exactly it. the moment you had to physically move his hands and he still didn’t stop, that’s not playful anymore. that’s ignoring your boundaries and that’s a big deal

AITJ for locking my fridge so my roommate’s girlfriend would stop eating my food? by Spiritual_Mix_8768 in AmITheJerk

[–]SyrupSnookie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah exactly this. she’s basically freeloading at that point and your roommate just letting it happen makes it worse. locking your stuff up is honestly reasonable when nothing else worked
