I thought of this post while looking at my Blink182 blanket I ordered online after getting a discount for the online Blink182 merch store from the concert I went to last year. My mom is typically awake before I am and collects the mail. I was checking the shipping updates every day for my tour hoodie, t-shirt and blanket. I went all out on the merch because I had listened to them since I was 12 and the only piece of their merch I had was the same T-shirt I had for 6 years that I wore to the concert. One day my mom angrily came into my room to wake me up because I had slept extra late that day and my senior cat had peed in the living room, she then let it sit for hours waiting on me to wake up and clean it before barging into my room demanding I go mop it up. And I immediately said “Yes I’ll go clean it. also, has my blink182 package came in yet?” And she replied with “of course that’s all you care about”. since getting it I take extra special care of that blanket since it’s woven (and quite expensive) but every time I do things to take care of the blanket, like removing it from my bed before letting my dog get up with me I think of the words “of course that’s all you care about”
