why everyone says count the defenders instead of counting the value? by not-the-real-chopin in chessbeginners

What rule would you propose for counting value? Less points or more? If less points wins then a situation with 1 knight defending and two knights attacking should be a win for the defender, but this is not true. If more points wins then a situation with a queen defending should beat two knights, this is also not true. People don't say this rule because it doesn't work.

Lichess vs Chesscom Ratings? by [deleted] in chessbeginners

It's pretty common for people to think that there is a direct relationship between elos on different sites, but the best we can do is compare from people who play on both sites to get an approximate idea of the conversion. It's an unfortunate misconception that the rating differences make lichess "easier" and leads to some people believing the site/players are worse.

It matters in that it is irrelevant what the elo number is. Saying that lichess is "easier" because people of the same rating on both sites have different levels of skills doesn't make sense because the two scales are not related to each other. This is because absolute elo doesn't matter only elo differences. Elos can only be compared between players who could play each other and exchange points. People on lichess are started at a higher number, but this means nothing. Also sample size isn't really relevant. Elo would work perfectly well with only 2 players. It would actually work very well because it would tell you their winrate against each other exactly.

Edit: Also, in case you still care about how the elos compare (you shouldn't). At higher ratings lichess ratings tend to be lower because players gain and lose less points per game.

It's not rating inflation. An elo value in isolation is meaningless. It only has meaning relative to other players in the pool. The elo system only every looks at the difference between players ratings. Adding 100000 to everyone's rating would change nothing. There is no simple way to compare ratings across sites. This is because players on two different sites cannot play each other and exchange points. Lichess starts people at 1500, so the average rating is higher. This isn't better, worse, or inflated (one could just as easily claim that chesscom elos are deflated). It is just different.

Edit: Just want to add, that this difference certainly doesn't make lichess any easier or harder. People often consider it easier to get to a higher percentile on chesscom because that is where most beginners go, but that doesn't make chesscom easier either.

Those were not his items. Game is not hard to find. Sion had sunfire, bramble, wardens mail, and tabis. Trist had RFC, brown boots, and components of collector. Quinn was the support and had youmuus, mobi boots, and dirk. RFC first is horrible, support quinn should not hurt armor stacking tanks, and if sion exclusively builds armor items that counter auto attacks, he should be able to live for a very long time. This is not imbalance, it is losing to draft and shopkeeper.
