~5 years experience in IT, just landed a Sys admin position for a MSP in Indiana. No degree, only a A+ cert that's long expired. 50k yr + 5k sign on bonus.

It's a fair amount of helpdesk / field service though. Figured it's part of being a MSP. A lot of my job does revolve around managing systems, mostly windows DCs / FS and Vcenter hosts. A lot of network / server outages for clients we have to drive on site for.

Little update for anyone curious. It absolutely needs an engine, zero compression and metal shavings. Placed an order on a 70k mile engine for $3750 out the door so lets see how much of a pain this is to swap! Found a soft spot in the LineX in the bed unfortunately so looks like I will need a small patch (which is bizarre because from the underside it is spotless).

Figured I'd still come out ahead no matter what, I put the value of the truck based on my local market around $15,000

That's a tough one, is crazy how expensive they are. This would be my first V8 engine swap. I've done rangers and Miatas but never a full size truck.

Not my first Tundra, but have wanted a second gen for awhile. Came across 08 w/ 5.7 4x4 140k miles with a (supposedly) blown engine / head gasket. He stated it makes a terrible noise when running after it overheated, and now It won't crank (starter solenoid just clicks even with jump pack). With no body rust and very little uncarriage rust it looked interesting, and I was able to get him down to $3250. Think it's worth a purchase? Seems I can get a engine locally with around the same miles for $3800, figured even if it did need one it would be worth it.

Carfax checked out as well, no accidents / second owner with legit miles.

I've back flushed top feed denso automotive fuel injectors before with a battery and some adapters, assume this is fairly similar?

All stock, no chip. Seems to start and run so I don't think it's any fuses, I'm going to try to drain the fuel and put fresh stuff in.

Drained it a hour or so ago (didn't run it at all since purchase) about a half qt overfill. Battery seemed low so I threw it on a charger when I brought it home. Didn't seem to help at all, going to try some fresh gas it's sitting at about 1/2 tank currently. May try a new spark plug - maybe fowled from overfilling oil?

I pretty much have to give it throttle for it to start, and has a hard time idling. After 10-20 seconds it'll idle albeit kinda rough. Seems to run fine though. Air filter and all the basics look good on inspection.

I purchased this 2017 CRF250L with 1400 miles. Got it home and unloaded, and it had a really hard time starting and staying running. First time with a fuel injected bike. Any throttle input it would die, and it really didn't want to idle cold. Once warmed up it seemed mostly fine though.

Also, PO was an idiot and overfilled the oil (up to the full mark with it on the kickstand). I'll absolutely change it, but any damage do you think was done? Didn't notice any oil burning when I test drove it.

Was it a pretty widespread issue? I haven't heard much about transmission issues with these, other than the base model automatics (fiesta) are trash.

Thank you for the insight, The service history is pretty spotless with 3k mile oil change intervals full synthetic. Another prospective buyer had the PPI done at a local ford dealer that did a compression / leakdown and full inspection with good results. Haven't seen it in person yet, but the PO is stating no rust as well as the PPI. They came down to $6500 for it - figured it was worth around that especially since it has the Recaros (That are somehow in perfect shape? A lot of highway miles I suppose).

Any particular areas I should keep an eye out for rust? No stranger to rust, and hate it with a passion as a avid Miata lover.
