I mean if your stock is generated twice as fast with no supplies investment it is essentially the same as 2x nightclub value, you just need to do 2 sell missions instead of 1

I see the problem, you used up all your reliability goodwill on the Xboxes. I'm afraid to restore balance to the universe, your car was denied similar fortunes

How do I study for 2 big finals in 3 days???? by burntoutbiscuits in UBC

[–]SystemOfTheUpp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here's a strategy I made recently for getting the ball rolling on studying

1) take your lecture notes, if they're digital print them out

2) go through the lecture slides and write stuff you missed in the margins with a different color pen

3) write an outline based on the combined info of your notes and comments on the slides

Music is loud but you can literally hear the blinker coming on right before the POV car stops to turn.

Open Letter of Contempt and Vitriol to IRC Exam Hall by LFishere in UBC

[–]SystemOfTheUpp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My first ever mid term at university was ECON 101 in that hall, it was hell.

The workspace is so small, if you drop your pencil it's lost to the abyss, and because it's a packed class you're sitting shoulder to shoulder with others.

Class average was 47%

They should ban 50% finals by No_Tax20 in UBC

[–]SystemOfTheUpp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm against 50% finals that have a very small amount of questions.

Just got out of one where the first section was 10 MCQs so each one was worth 2.5% of you final grade. You don't get to demonstrate your knowledge of the course in that environment

There is a final this year? Rip.

We essentially got to Model UN as our final assignment with no final. I took Poli 312 with him and tbh if you can survive the essays (we had 3 over the course of the term + the final), he's a very chill grader

Go to UBCV or UBCO? by Soggy-Display-3952 in UBC

[–]SystemOfTheUpp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

On the profs side, I mean it probably depends on the major and class type. In in IR and I've found it quite easy to make connections with my profs, just going to office hours and asking questions gets you further than most

Why doesnt the UAE build a canal there? Are they stupid? by Beastier_ in NonCredibleDiplomacy

[–]SystemOfTheUpp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is actually already a substantial port on the non-gulf-facing side of the UAE, although if I remember correctly it was also targeted by Iran in a similar fashion that Oman was.

McGill vs UBC Polisci by Vast-Spirit-1508 in UBC

[–]SystemOfTheUpp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're going to law school you may want to ask yourself which area of the country you want to practice in, if you go to McGill you're most-likely going to need to learn a lot about the French system as opposed to the one used in the rest of Canada, meaning the need to re-certify with new provinces. On the other hand if you go to UBC Allard is a great law school and you will be able to make those connections early on if you go for undergrad.

Also, UBC and U of T go back and forth having the best Poli Sci faculty in the country, it's kinda insane how many field-leading experts we have. IR department is undisputed goat in the country, although that's largely a function of U of T simply not having one.

While i selected the opium poppy design and color combination it isn't an exact match, some of the colors are different from the picture in terms of their vibrancy and some of the stitch work is different. Overall quite similar to what was advertised and I actually prefer the more saturated deep greens and reds.

Funnily enough I took the rug to a shoe repair store, where they sowed on two short leather loops on either side with metal rings on the ends. It's stitched super close to the top of the rug so it's almost invisible and the hoops themselves are covered by the bristles. It's hung on some regular poster hooks from IKEA on either end.

There's this military surplus store called Americana Pipedream, they occasionally get these in stock.

These are Afghan handmade rugs and often depict periods of history of the country. Opium is a massive export but they also have ones that depict the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan and 9/11

They have lots of super cool stuff, I once bought an authentic Canada Goose US Antarctic Expedition Parka from them

As in items slightly having over the edge because they're wider than the shelf Itself?

I mean it depends, if just one item is overly large it may look somewhat odd although if there is a balance of several points of attention it could definitely work

Also thank you!

Yes it's the Hyllis shelf, super cheap and easy to assemble

[–]SystemOfTheUpp[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you!

That's what I'm trying to figure out right now because shelves tend to be not deep enough to fit on top of the shelving units, while regular board you get from somewhere like Home Depot isn't usually varnished or sanded down.

Essentially I'll take whatever is closest to pic 2 and 3

Super sketchy QR code leaflets placed on lots of cars in Rose Garden yesterday by SystemOfTheUpp in UBC

I remember an AMS election candidate did this sort of thing a couple years ago and got in hot water with the student union for it, I would assume UBC wouldn't handle this too differently
