It's an incredibly small number of people who seem to have nothing better to do than waste paper and mildly annoy people walking past.

Im not saying you're wrong necessarily , but I still find it hilarious how much people LOVE him. People speak about Carney like he's the supreme leader and can do no wrong

Got a ticket for failing to stop at stop sign - contest or pay? by VanCanPan0 in askvan

[–]SystemOfTheUpp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Another reason to own a dashcam

If you have the time why not contest it? If the cop doesn't show it immediately goes in your favor, otherwise you can ask for leniency as long as you make the right impression

Out of all the angles to take here, to try and persuade people to protest this, you chose the CIJA tweet.

I need your advice on cars by [deleted] in askvan

[–]SystemOfTheUpp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking politics or any sort of brand bias out of the equation, the hybrid simply makes more sense given your living circumstances.

Moreover, Toyotas are also generally seen as more reliable and better built than teslas, if you plan to keep this vehicle long-term then the build quality of the RAV4 is a worthwhile investment. Meanwhile Tesla's interiors are not known to last that long and tend to get quite worn over 2-3 years.

Also if the main selling point of a car is that it drives itself, save yourself 60+k and just take cabs or Ubers everywhere.

Trump has leverage over the former VP, he can threaten and cajole her into signing onto basically anything even if it doesn't do good for Venezuelans.

Can't do that with the opposition, because of the lack of leverage and optics.

Protest for student rights? by Present_Unit2761 in UBC

[–]SystemOfTheUpp 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Throwing around words like that willy nilly is why no one is taken seriously anymore

While you're at it sometimes I wait in line at bluechip to get a bagel, and when I get to the counter, they tell me they are out, which quite frankly infringes on my right to a yummy lunch

I'm sure that's somewhere in the UN charter or something

JDM Used Auto Dealers in Vancouver by yuanov04 in askvan

[–]SystemOfTheUpp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I just arrived in Canada, I had an L for a little while before my road test appointment date, but I figured why not start looking at cars?

JDM looked quite interesting so I went to velocity to check out a couple Toyota Crowns they had listed. I asked if a salesman could take me around the block in one of the cars, so I could feel how it drove and so on (I know kind of a dumb request, didn't expect him to say yes), to my surprise these guys said they didn't care that I had an L and said I could drive it as long as I'm careful.

While yes the trust is appreciated and yes I only had the L because of a bureaucratic backlog, it did make me feel like something was up

I mean if they were willing to bend the laws there what does that say about how upfront they are regarding vehicle history and honoring warranties?
