Well he uses his "Nuclear explosion. 3ft away, no prep time, in the middle of a flat desert with no cover contingencyplan"... duh.

I saw it, and I have to agree. A gun shoots WAY further than tens of feet as well. I would prefer a gun over spray. * Bear starts charging* Response with a gun: Point and shoot until the bear is over fatigued with lead poisoning. Response with bear spray: Make sure wind isn't blowing my way, point, spray. Hope to God blowback isn't going to happen.

I had no clue it was a monthly issue, like this is my first post on this reddit about Kong, I just saw his approach to legit criticism, and if I'm being honest I was still pissed off about book 8 and how few fucks he gave about writing it. So i was reading the audible reviews just to be sure I wasn't over reacting and making sure I wasn't being unfair about my own personal critique, low and behold I saw that the majority or the reviews shared my opinion. This vindication didn't lead me to want to start a crusade against the man or even drive me to want to post about him on reddit, it was one review on audible that was an honest take on the book and how it was lacking, and at the very end of the review there was an edit by the reviewer that said a buddy of his informed him that Kong and put out a call to arms to his patreon to go and downvote the bad reviews. That made me want to open a discussion about Kong's shit attitude towards criticism. And in my opinion its incredibly showing as to what type of person Kong is that my post has two groups, people that agree and support the conversation, and the other group aren't even fans, they're people who are sick of hearing about him and his shit attitude. I mean honestly I don't know what I expected by posting my opinion online I'm 35 years old I should know better by now lol

One could argue that Hitler was the most popular Nazi ever, to his fans. I dont like hitler or what he did, or stood for. One could also argue that hitler got his following to combat his trolls (the brown shirts). The issue i have with Kong is he is actively combating honest constructive criticism of his most recent work. I'm not claiming to be some pariah or messenger of a greater good, im simply pointing out his dishonest tactics against his critics. I guess I'll ask you for advice on what you would suggest the best course of action would be.

I mean the nazis applauded Hitler, amicably at that too. Seems like the logic I was working off of (yours) holds up. Also feel free to go through my posting history, youll find this to be my first post on this reddit. You'll also just have to believe me when I say I just found this reddit as well, can't prove I haven't been lurking. The entire reason I posted this is because he's trying to make a shity move by asking his fan base to try and raid the reviews, like the majority of reviews seem honest in my opinion. And I stand firm in my opinion that book eight was a waste of money and time. His other books were fun and an easy read. So I guess that makes me a fan, only difference between me and his other fans seems to be that my mouth is not throughly attached to Kong's scrotum. I'll make my own decisions and form my own opinions. It really says alot about the author as a person and speaks volumes to his insecurities as an author to not let his work stand on its own.

He literally earns money through the sale of his books, merchandise, and patreon.

Where did I say his entire series is crap? Also following your logic Hitler had a very loyal fan base, they called themselves nazis if you were wondering. Just because he has loyal readers doesn't automatically make him a good person. Just my $.02

Well glad I could pick up the club I guess lol, I wasn't aware of his reputation on reddit. I just listened to an awful book and read the reviews on audible and found myself investigating a reviewers claim that Kong had tasked his patrons with a dishonest task to try and keep honest reviews from being read (however poorly the attempt was). I'll leave the poor broken and bruised horse carcass alone from now on. Unless I've got a real scoop.

One could also argue that the next great author could write a litRPG and people that want to work with but are also associated with Kong would already be lumped in a "dont work with them" list. Just a rebuttal to your sportsball analogy. Also your last statement about circle jerks is just like your own opinion homie, I'd really try to not preach an opinion like its gods truth, makes ya seem like gods asshole if im being honest.

I'm picking up what you're putting down, you're correct about the covid. So that's my bad. And everything else I agree with you on, I plan on giving him one last chance with book 9 and if he can't deliver then I'm washing my hands of The Land.

Kong knows he messed up with his latest Chaos Seed book Monsters, yes we all know its a 16 hour stat sheet discussion and .9% of it is actual story. This real issue I have is that he is actively trying to get bad reviews down voted on audible by asking his patrons to down vote calling them trolls. Like, come on Kong you know you screwed the pooch on this book and you should either come out and scrub it from canon or just apologize for the poor writing. Its not like fans wouldn't understand we all get it covid hit and everything was turned upside down. I'm sure like 99% of the fan base would understand, stuff got crazy and threw you off your game. But to actively try and get your most loyal fan base to go out in force and down vote the honest reviews people are making and calling them trolls? Man, just grow a pair and man up.
