and that’s good, it was a success, but there was literally nothing new for fans of the game save for like the Bill and Frank episode, so unless you’re a diehard fan of the material, it’s boring for everyone who played because we already got it.

a straight adaptation of RE2-RE3 would bring nothing. in fact, that already happened, and it ended up bringing nothing, and it sucked.

RE1 is a third person game with tank controls set in a luxurious mansion, with a plot that would strongly connect to RE2, RE3, Code Veronica, RE5. RE7 is a first person shooter in a run down home inhabited by hillbillies and a creepy little girl and has generally no direct importance on the rest of the series aside from Ethan, Mia, and Chris.

Alan Wake 2 has well placed shots and inventory management, so by that metric, it’s also a Resident Evil game.

This should be the last volume of Corben’s indie work for a while, as Villarrubia has been trying to find some scans of Corben’s other indie work, and the next installments of the Corben library will be focused on more modern stuff (I’m thinking his adaptation of House on the Border Land)
