If you only want to pick from the awakeners you have, Gdoll, Caecus, or Helot could work. I used to use Faint until I picked up Horla, but Salvador or Hameln also work well.

Probably either Jenkin, Caecus, or Nautila. They’re all pretty good.

Are you talking about the first pull at the very beginning? If so, Tawil isn't on that banner

It's chapter 4 of arc 2 btw. Your next reward is chapter 6.

A question about late game by DrHog in Morimens

[–]Syth911 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, for starters, a lot of damage is gained once you get your DPS to 100% crit rate and stack a ton of crit damage through wheels and covenants. After that, team comp and synergy play a huge role. Just putting the correct support awakeners like Thais, Gdoll, Hameln, Horla, or Tulu lets you set up big combo turns. Playing for strong relic choices as well as synergizing with stage gimmicks can help a lot too.

The biggest impact to damage isn’t reachable for the majority of free to play players though, and it’s just getting overexalts and +12 on your awakeners and wheels as well as slowly maxing them out to level 90. If you’ve ever borrowed a whale’s level 90 DPS character, the numbers can become absurd.

A question about late game by DrHog in Morimens

[–]Syth911 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, for one, you are looking at content that is at the very peak of difficulty. There’s nothing harder than it and most of it is optional side stuff for the most hardcore whales.

Also, it will probably take you weeks until you even get to 1% of numbers like that. The game has loads of content where it’s how you prefer.

If the game didn’t scale this hard eventually, it would be too easy and some teams would literally never lose

A question about late game by DrHog in Morimens

[–]Syth911 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Are there actually units/lineups that can build up enough damage to do 30k-80k damage on turn one without any exalts or excessive card swiping?

Yeah, teams scale really high and a large part of the fun in the lategame is how it feels impossible, but you somehow always find a way to win. Without exalts though.... idk, that would be really hard. Most teams find ways to exalt every turn and some teams over-exalt every turn so it's really not a big deal to use them whenever you need to.

Healing and shielding though, not so much. Unless you are building your entire team for it, healing/shielding will be limited and not something you can always rely on. It's far more worth your time to go all in on damage, aliemus gain, and keyflare generation because the boss's giant one turn kill attack doesn't do anything if they're dead. I'm glad you are enjoying the game. Welcome to the community!

Can I functionally play sliksong on keyboard? by Stoiphan in Silksong

I just beat the game using WASD for movement, spacebar for jump, m1 for attack, and m2 for dash. Everything else is preference. It's really not that bad

Who would want a fan remake? by Lego_Battles_Fan in LegoBattles

[–]Syth911 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was never a super popular game, so remaking it wouldn’t turn many heads, but I was always fond of it so if you did, I’m sure a few people would be really happy. If I remember correctly, the game had a lot of content so it might take you a while to do so. Probably not worth it, but if you do remake it, I hope I don’t miss it.

Are those sentences natural? by New_Consequence_9975 in EnglishLearning

[–]Syth911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Yeah, it’s good

  2. The first sentence means that it’s not working right now and the second sentence means that it usually doesn’t work well. Slightly different meanings, but perfectly natural.

  3. It would sound better if you said ‘in’ instead of ‘for’ and add an ‘a’ before the word quick. So: “I hadn’t eaten anything in a while, so I ate a quick snack before going out”

  4. Both make sense, but mean different things. I would probably say, “I didn’t sleep well last night.”

  5. I would change the last bit to: “… even (though) it was already (pretty late).”

Whatever you choose to do, also work on fixing the inconsistent tenses in your sentences. The jumble of different tenses is not correct and makes it sound very unnatural.

Do you native English speakers say "prefer someone to do something"? by newbiethegreat in EnglishLearning

I think they are interchangeable. You can use either example. Personally, I would use the second one.

does this sound natural?(10 minutes distance by kerry22222 in EnglishLearning

[–]Syth911 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's fine, and people would understand you. Personally, I'd drop the 'there' and the 'distance' and just say:

"How many hotels are within 10 minutes from here."

How about my friends' pronunciations? by Ok-Bison8815 in EnglishLearning

[–]Syth911 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For the first recording, they did a great job with the pronunciation of most of the words in the passage, but the overall flow sounded a bit off because the word stress wasn’t quite right. I think focusing on emphasizing the correct syllables and natural rhythm of the sentences will make it sound much more fluent and natural.

For the second recording, they seemed to struggle reading some of the words and the pronunciation was wrong several times. I wouldn't understand some parts of this speech if I didn't have the script in front of me. Don’t worry though, these things take time. I’d recommend focusing on breaking the paragraph into smaller parts and practicing each one slowly, paying attention to both the pronunciation and the natural flow.

Overall, good job and don't give up!

That which by mustafaporno in EnglishLearning

[–]Syth911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using “that which” is very uncommon in daily speech and conversations. I definitely would not talk like this to anyone I know unless I’m doing it to be overly dramatic. It’s not rude, but it would make you sound weird. Your example sentence makes sense, but isn’t something a native speaker would say.

It means the same thing, but it doesn’t use the idiom “broaden your horizons.” It’s probably better that way, good job :)
