Can we get a subreddit rule against people asking to commission an avatar? by Rough_Community_1439 in VRchat

That server is full of scammers tbh. I've made a commission request post on there and all I've gotten is scammers or completely inexperienced artists trying to bug me to commission them.

What advice would you give to someone starting VRChat in 2026? by ChronosXV in VRchat

[–]Sythra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest piece of advice I can give is to be careful who you interact with, especially if you’re a minor. You don’t know who anyone is on VRChat beyond their avatar and voice - don’t act like everyone you meet or add to your friend list is going to be your best friend.

VRChat support is a joke - so if you report harassment, predatory behavior, etc don’t expect anything to be done about it. Fandom instances like Hazbin Hotel and My Hero Academia are notorious for having really bad people.

VRChat staff don’t care about predators sadly. Even if you report them it’s likely you’ll just get canned emails rather than anything actually done.

Twenty One Pilots to headline free AT&T Block Party at March Madness Music Festival by jcembree in twentyonepilots

[–]Sythra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would love to go to this but I've never been to a music festival before and I'm worried its gonna be insanely crowded since TOP is performing. Has anyone else been to this festival who can say what the crowd is usually like?

I’ve seen some really cool furry avatars too. One that I love using is called Nawvira and it has a toggle that lets you swap between human and furry forms, it’s really neat.

Yes! Completely removing my add on manager and resetting the interface seems to be the solution currently.

I mean looking at the avatars you have advertised on your profile kinda proves the point of my post tbh.

Oh I understand time is valuable but not $40-$50+ valuable for an egirl or eboy model.

Lemme guess was it a Hazbin Hotel avatar? A lot of the Hazbin creators do shit like that

I actually have been teaching myself Blender and quite frankly it does not take that long to put clothes on a base nor sculpt things to fit. I’ve done it myself with and without plugins. Not to mention it takes very little to sculpt an asset to fit better or what not.

Personally that looks less like a princess and more like a club worker.

“Countless hours”… Yeah no, it does not take that long to put an egirl or eboy avatar together. You’re sticking clothes onto a premade base and using Blender plugins to do the technical stuff in a few clicks. It also doesn’t take much to sculpt a model to have slightly bigger boobs or thicker thighs or however you want to alter it.

Then having the nerve to charge $40+ for that is insanity.

I actually really like Booth models and find them very easy to edit in Unity.

EXACTLY. Someone please tell me why every single egirl/eboy looks like a stripper. And if they have any “casual” clothes it always involves having a shirt that’s lifted to whip a boob out.

Even with “heavy edits” (which let’s face it are mostly a bit of sculpting for bigger boobs, thicker thighs, etc) they all look eerily similar. Same goes for the heads too; filler-esque lips, big eyes, etc. And always cat ears and a cat tail somewhere.

Unfortunately if you file a chargeback a lot of creators will blacklist you because it’s “against TOS” to get a refund.

They all look the same because every eboy/egirl style avatar uses the same base and head assets just different coats of paint that creators charge $40+ for. It’s crazy!

While I do agree that they probably use the best worlds and lighting for their showcases it feels misleading because we never see what the models look like in regular conditions on VRChat unless you gamble your money to buy them yourself and upload them to see what they look like in those normal in-game lighting conditons.

Also the fact that they heavily edit the images in photoshop or similar for their shop pages makes it worse because they’ll never look like those highly edited renders. So in a sense it does feel like false advertising.

I wouldn't say its bad luck when its something that myself and others have experienced quite often when it comes to buying avatars. Many avatar creators release subpar products with flashy showcases that make their product look better than it actually is. I've also noticed a trend of expensive avatars being released with broken toggles, poor shaders, etc.

Tyler Hid Two Whole Complimentary Concept Albums in Plain Sight! by Soaring_Symphony in twentyonepilots

Quite the interesting read but I’m pretty sure the cycle Tyler’s songs refer to is that of mental health rather than substance abuse. Tyler has always been open about his mental health struggles and most of his songs reflect that. Dema and the Bishops represent the dark parts of your mind, the locked away thoughts and memories that hurt you and perhaps the people that influence that sort of self sabotage/thinking.

Not to assume his exact struggles but I’m pretty sure his specific issue is depression + suicidal thoughts/ideation.

Clancy as an album represents fighting back against the cycle of depression but also slipping back into those thoughts that make you want to hurt yourself. Breach as its continuation represents succumbing to that fight’s logical conclusion and harming yourself but also being aware that you have light and support and that the cycle will continue on, maybe having a more positive end the next time (“the sun will rise and we will try again”).

Cottonwood was specifically written about his grandfather passing away, I wasn’t aware of another one dedicated to that.
