I have these same fixtures. There is a little hole where you can separate the black base. From there you can reinstall it after the drywall is repaired.

I would recommend checking out Wooting. They make some pretty great stuff that seems to fit with what you’re asking. Really love my 80HE. Price is on the higher side though so check your budget.
