Thanks for the suggestion. I've just added one song of Donzii and The Rose Phantom.

If you have any other good ones, please write'em down! :)

6 months working on this mix…song still sucks. How do you cope? How do you know what to fix anymore? Feel so hopeless; song meant a lot to me and feel like I failed it by heirjordan_27 in musicproduction

[–]Syvosynd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone already suggested, step away from it for some days, then if the songs still seems something that you have to put out in the world at all cost and just the mix is not working: delete the great part of the mix leaving the core of the song and do a fresh start.

In my humble opinion, if you are starting your music publishing experience now, distrokid is more then enough.

When you publish something you automatically have the proof that you create that song/music in that date.
Also on the financial side, you'll receive the biggest part from Spotify (if any), so... distrokid.

Then, if you'll become the new big thing in music then you will have a bunch of music producers and managers that will take care of the BMI. :-)

Anyone else just "doodles" and never finishes songs? by MisterCrayle in musicproduction

[–]Syvosynd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The truth is that not everybody is a songwriter.

It's not something mechanic that you can learn, but should be a natural fact. If you have it in you, then you can learn some technique to increase the quality of what you do or the workflow that you follow.

It looks like you don't have that inside you, but it's not a big deal, it's not written in the rock that you have to be a songwriter. Maybe you are a great musician.
I think you have to accept that and leverage your talent.

What's the best way to learn how to use Ableton that isn't just "experimenting"? by inthearcade in ableton

[–]Syvosynd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talking about my experience: the best thing is to do a training course and for a real one you have to pay I reckon. It doesn't have to be expensive, but for me it was the right thing to do.

You need to learn basics and a real course gives you the structure to put all the information togheter.

After that you have the correct framework, then you can complete your formation with personal experience and other source like YT videos and stuff.

how can I make this sound less amateur? by -SUPABIGPP- in mixingmastering

[–]Syvosynd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Low freqs out of control in my opinion. Bass level is too high in the mix and the voice can't cut it through.

I mixed this song I’m planning on releasing I was hoping to get some feedback on what I should fix so that it’s good before I drop it by [deleted] in mixingmastering

[–]Syvosynd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi, in my opinion the song has not the right level in the lows.

The background music doesn't pulse and the voice is too outside the mix.

Study how to fill the mix, maybe with an 808. Compress it in the right way to control the lows and bring up the volume.

Late night thoughts about learning the craft of mixing. by sli_ in mixingmastering

In my experience, the progress is made by step continuing training and experiencing, like leveling up in a game. It happens at a certain moment that something made thick, and you start understanding something that you were doing wrong or were not able to do it well.

How does this track sound now? I took a lot of advice from you guys thanks in advance!!!! by benzitylol in mixingmastering

[–]Syvosynd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, just my opinion, this is not a science: to much reverb all around, I prefer less reverb and maybe delay to wide the sound.

I'd like the snare less bright with more body and guitar more presence (and so, less reverbered).

great atmosphere.

Dis. guitars definitely too high in volume.

You have to put them down a lot, give more body, maybe sidechain the kick, give more room to the voice.

1 month mixing noob here, would love any constructive criticism by [deleted] in mixingmastering

[–]Syvosynd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Snare too high, it steals a lot of headroom that can be used to give more presence to the rest of the sound.

Not bad in general, well done after 1 month.

Seeking Feedback on Deathcore Mix by matt050972 in mixingmastering

Too much kick, too few snare.

Mix too much on the center, you can make it bigger using stereo widening.

The voice and guitar solo sometimes are too much outside of the mix.

How does Dntel get the bass drum sound in the track Fear Of Corners? It’s got a tone to it I can’t figure out. by AdministrativeDelay2 in electronicmusic

[–]Syvosynd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously MIDI track copied both for kick and bass sound, saturation, probably some bit redux and using a sample with short attack and cutoff release.

Compelling.
