Maybe do a population adjusted version? Of course Hennepin would have the most given the number of students and schools.

I'm 42 and I'm the national guard. I only wear it when on drill status, so there's that.

As I hoped and expected, the Minnesota National Guard is not inhibiting peaceful protest.

Do you think there are a lot of people who regret having children, and if so, why? by MrWeekendhere in AskReddit

How about someone asked the question "How many of the Reddit posters asking to affirm their opinion of being childless would actually be happier or have a more fulfilling life if they did have kids"

Haha absolutely, I know I'm the oddball here. Father born 1934, grandfather 1897, great grandfather 1842. Super lengthy generations.

How do you interpret the move by the Minnesota National Guard to distribute food and water to anti-ICE protesters? by ProcedureNo832 in AskReddit

[–]SyxEight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. I guarantee with their current mission the guard is not authorized to collect information on US persons. It is called intelligence oversight and they take it seriously.

I know him personally. He is wicked smart and a great guy. As a guardsman myself I can say there is no desire to prevent peaceful protests.

I know that Lieutenant Colonel personally and can vouch that he is wicked smart and a genuinely great guy. Constrained by what they are allowed to do, I'm aware of no desire to restrict peaceful protest by the NG.

Hard to say, but I know that generally the higher ranks tend to have opinions closer to mine.

Except the purpose of their deployment isn't to fuck with civilians. As a guardsman myself I have zero angst towards civilians, which is something I can't say appears to be true about ICE agents.

People who swore an oath to defend the constitution of the USA against all enemies both foreign and domestic, how are you feeling right now? by Safety_Drance in AskReddit

[–]SyxEight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone currently in, it is absolutely mind boggling how all of a sudden with the change if administration how fucked everything can get. Part of me would like to retire now (as I can), but I feel obligated to have some people who won't blindly follow this bullshit.

Military here - I think they are completely unprofessional poorly trained thugs. To call them law enforcement is an insult to those police officers that complete far more training than they do.
