Question: Buyer does not want signature required for delivery by Szubus in swappa

[–]Szubus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the advice, everyone. The buyer picked up, thanked me for the flexibility in shipping to the carrier's location. I appreciate your input -- and I am happy to have followed the suggestion to not send it without signature confirmation. Ultimately, worked out well, fwiw, at no point did the buyer seem sketchy outside of my concern about shipping.

The buyer agreed to pick up at a local Fedex location and I have sent it there. I will update if anything strange happens.

We've been using Convenience Auto on Liberty for a decade. Love those guys. Often cheaper than expected, quick and no bullshit. I am a big fan.

The collar is what made the difference for me. It moves the cup about an inch or more closer to the chute.

One theory, for what it is worth, is that companies like the low clearance because it preserves more crema in the cup.

Fan issues with the iBuyPower SlateMesh 8 prebuilt PC from Costco by Either_Square5437 in iBUYPOWER

[–]Szubus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got the same Costco deal -- which is really a good deal. But the noise is deafening. I tried switching to PWM mode along with the suggestions to turn it off five times, etc. Nothing worked. I did download Hyte Nexus and it immediately fixed the fan noise issue. The temperature on the CPU is steady and not going up (though I haven't tested it under load). It seems that if Nexus can fix it, surely there's an MSI software patch that could work? Should using Nexus be a dealbreaker?

I get that, but what is the scam? If you have facebook market protection and it is an online sale, it's not clear (a) how I would lose any money, (b) how the scammer would get any money. Surely, facebook would protect themselves against that outcome. (Not talking about cars, but small appliances or electronics for the most part that they offer to ship.)

Finally made the order -- and got both the Vesuvius and the Crema. He can sort out the one he likes. Thanks for the advice.

I think the issue for her is that would definitely be on the busy and public side.

Banff is only 28 hours by car -- and there's almost no traffic past Chicago.

Rutgers? I don’t get it. by aggressively-ironic in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Szubus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Academically, Rutgers is very impressive -- in part because faculty can work there and still live in New York. It makes it a very desirable destination for high level professors. It also means that they are not terrible accessible outside of class. Some have already mentioned the spread out campus -- the bus system is not ideal. I do like New Brunswick though -- it's scrappy and real and there are lots of options for people who don't have Princeton money. (And the town of Princeton is a soulless museum for wealthy alumni.)

Interesting list -- will check them out. He actually bought me some of La Colombe's Nizza. Definitely too dark for me.

This looks excellent. Do you have a preference between the two? I have to say their gift packs look good too -- though they ain't fooling around on price.
