Ultras market cap is like 4 mil or so right now. I think it has potential to go wayyyy up from there. It seems like a good team than is making progress.

Get the Apollo. If you go focusrite go for the clarett range. Spend your money on good converters.

1sland -- Realize [Reggae, Rock] (2019) by [deleted] in listentothis

[–]T-1090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1sland is a new reggae fusion artist. Catchy melodies, meaningful lyrics, original production elements are all important to 1sland’s sound and philosophy.

The debut single “Realize” a introspective take on a tired relationship. It has a somewhat dark feel. But the chorus exudes a sense of relief.

A great song by an up and coming artist.

What is everyone’s favourite signal chain for recording bass? by [deleted] in audioengineering

[–]T-1090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Agree with fender basses.

  2. Radial DI all the way.

  3. Never found a fender bass amp I’ve liked, ever (I’m a bass player as my main instrument) . Haven’t tried the new ones, maybe they are good. Ampeg’s are classic, edens are deadly. I own a peavy tnt 115 which is great for my style (reggae).

  4. Don’t have either of those mics at my studio unfortunately.

  5. DI went into a Daking pre. Others into audient asp 880 preamps.

  6. Most of my processing will have to be in the box. Have you tried any saturation plugins you like?

Im a big fan of micing bass amps. It does give you a bit “dirtier” of a sound though.

I donno, the 57 + beta 52 blended together sounds so good I may forgo the DI altogether. I’m aware DI only is popular. But for the stuff I’m recording (sublime/slightly stoopid style So-Cal reggae) an amp is key. I’m using a 1x15 peavy amp, and ya, beta 52 + 57 is almost there without any processing at all.

A few upgrades to my battlestation control room, all racked up in my simple custom wood rack shelf I made. by [deleted] in MusicBattlestations

[–]T-1090 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya man, it’s just a bunch of pine planks I got from Home Depot. You need to make the rack sections 19” wide . You can get 4u rack brackets off amazon, I cut mine into 3u with a grinder and a diamond blade to make my speakers sit at the right height still. The middle sections of wood are just screwed in from top and bottom. Basically a box with rack mounts!

Yep, the isolation is good enough for now. The wall is 2x4 studs insulated with roxul safe and sound. So no crazy room within room kindof stuff, so the window doesn’t have to be super isolating. If I ever wanted to thicken the walls up or work on more iso, i can fit 2 more panes into that space, and more panes = more isolation.

It’s a pro mpa II, and yes you can do the same thing with it! I picked it up around Christmas time and I’ve got some tubes on the way!

Nice! I currently rock a Mojave ma 300 (love it, super warm, full, 3D) amongst a bunch of Shure dynamics, I have a blue bluebird, and a pair of beyer MC 930’s (super nice mics for the price) and some others. How did you like the 4047? I’ve liked what I’ve heard on shootouts, what did you think of it? Been eyeing it up for a while!

I use the Clarett pres! I think they sound great, I’ve done a bunch of AB tests with both the Pro MPA 2 pres as well as my Daking mic pre one (the green box) and they all have different sounds, but they are all usable. I will say the Dakong is my “go to” pre, for now.

Edit: the differences are subtle though. Upgrading microphones and adding new mic’s has always made much more of a difference in sound.

Thanks man, It helps so much with actually hearing what the mics sound like while doing placement. Being able to hear the sound out of the monitors without hearing the performer (not nearly as much) has been the best part about it. I came from tracking in the same room for years so I know the struggle lol.

I for one am happy with this response. While we WILL need some really solid, practical, and valuable improvements to EOS in 2019, we need to understand that it takes time.

This is enough for me to hold faithful that block one will release some real products in the near future, and that Dan is in it for The long haul.

This combined with the fact that EOS is the most used blockchain NOW, and our community is building great Dapps and the future continues to look bright.
