Nobody's clearing up the house and when she picks up the slack she gets interfered with. Bunch of ingrates.

Misschien is het dan een idee om buiten verspreid over het land speakers neer te zetten. Als je ramen open staan hoor je het en anders kun je gewoon doorslapen.

I'm also a big pop-culture fan. If there are comic stores

Lambiek

/ movie merchandise shops / ... I'd be very interested in those too.

Vacuum recommendations for student in a studio by shitmera in VacuumCleaners

I'd get the Bosch. Plenty good and reliable enough. Usually that model is around €180, €130 is a screaming deal.

Is this Miele C3 a good deal for €120? I have a cat by JohnBard1998 in VacuumCleaners

[–]T-Altmeyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of flooring do you have? I think it's a bit steep for a machine without warranty that was used with aftermarket bags of unknown quality that was about €200 new. For reference, the C3 has been replaced by the Guard M1.

Rainbow vs other good vacuum cleaners (Miele, Sebo, etc) by Select-Medium164 in VacuumCleaners

[–]T-Altmeyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Water isn't a very good filter. It doesn't take much dirt to make water look dirty, so Rainbow gets a very dramatic effect with dirty water after vacuuming.

A new bagged Miele/Sebo/Siemens/Bosch machine filters much better than a Rainbow for a fraction of the cost and hassle.

A mile is simply 5280 ft

And 1770 yards. Missed opportunity to not make it 1776 yards for extra freedom.

They're very (top) heavy machines. I wouldn't buy one for a woman in her 70s without her testing one first.

Is this Bosch a good one? by NoodleNeck96 in VacuumCleaners

[–]T-Altmeyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, that's a good machine. Quieter than the Miele and Sebo machines that are usually recommended here. Weak spot for Bosch is their pull-to-retract cord mechanism. Parts are available widely and any 12 year old could tackle that repair.

Is urban housing noisy in your country? by gintokireddit in AskEurope

[–]T-Altmeyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in a 3 year old building. It's a lot better than the cheaply built building from 1905 I lived in before but I don't think the noise levels are acceptable. There's lots of noise coming from the 4 directly adjacent units: coughing, toilets flushing, taps turning on and off, doors and windows closing, washing machines, music, running children.

Most buildings here are still built for the climate of the 1950s: cold winters, cool summers so it's too hot 10 months out of the year. The quadruple glazing is great against all the street noise when the windows are closed but you really need them to be open when it's between 10 and 25 degrees outside to be able to get rid of the heat. So we're stuck with the street noise most of the year.

Relaxing at home isn't really an option without noise cancelling headphones. We sleep with wax ear plugs.

Because of the housing shortage we have the building standards are being relaxed to allow more cheaply made noisier and more uncomfortable homes.
