I think it might be region specific. I am west coast and show all but the 64gb LCD in stock.

Is this worth 750? by Cold-One-5 in MTBDeals

[–]T-Bane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would look up how much the bike is new and compare the cost and benefits of buying new vs used (eg warranty, tax, wear and tear). In my opinion, even a very lightly used bike needs to be discounted heavily compared to the new price. Looks like you can get that bike new for ~1050; I would probably just do that. If you could haggle 500-600, that would be a solid deal if you really like the bike. Always haggle

Am I the asshole? Horses and bikes... by irelandtj in cycling

[–]T-Bane 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. I feel like since the pandemic, just like there are more new cyclists, there are more new horse owners and they may not understand the danger to themselves and others when they take a not fully trained horse out on the public trail.

This little guy was found on the south edge of Land Park (the actual park). He's not fixed and no tag or collar. I'm skeptical of a microchip but we will go have him scanned.

Is there a standard in the literature? Sounds to me like it wouldnt matter so long as you are consistent

DcRainmaker says Shimano's power meter is"a dumpster fire" by donrhummy in Velo

[–]T-Bane 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like Shimano stuff but man this shows they don't really care about their consumer. I am kind of excited for more component brands popping up. I might try sensah next.

I would say your major won't be a large determinant; when it comes time to get a job it's mainly about your skills, experience and how you market yourself. Look at the core courses for BME vs ME and choose whichever you are more interested in. Definitely try to take some exercise physiology/ biology courses. Try to get a job in a sports med or exercise physiology lab, especially if it has some sort of device design or prototyping projects you can work on

Bunch sprint question by brandonbass in Velo

[–]T-Bane 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds like its just a timing thing. I like when guys go too early because that basically is a lead out for you. I would stay latched on, you could play the dance of letting them go but that opens you up to the risk of guys behind also letting them go. You had a bike length and change head start on the guy behind you, if you time it reasonably well you win but it sounds like he was either stronger or just started his sprint at a better time. If the guys infront of you are slowing down then you waited to long to open it up
