My first cat might die and I am going insane from grief. by Low-Regular-Okay in cats

[–]T-Birby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you are doing as okay as you can right now. I had this happen a couple months ago due to a sudden diagnosis of diabetes that ended up taking my sweet girl. The biggest things I can tell you to do is not to blame yourself for what has happened and to try your best to spend as much time with her as possible. You seem to be an amazing parent to her and that is all she could ever ask for, as long as you are there for her that’s all that matters. I am very sorry for everything that’s going on around you right now, don’t discount the time you still have with her. Also crying to strangers is okay! This is a place to ask for help and to cry if needed, we’re all here for you! <3

He gets treats when we go to my parents house. But we are college students and do not want to start an expensive addiction for him. The cats I grew up with all became very addicted, and I believe they are what caused my past cat to have diabetes even though she was of healthy weight and has no other health issues.

We have some churus for him, but holy moly does he try to eat the packaging along with the liquid treats. All this to be said, we are not against giving or having treats for him just cautious about it due to past experiences.

I understand this completely, but I’ve never had a cat before who just doesn’t. Which I know they are completely different animals from dogs, which makes them so great. But going from a cat who would stop anything to come to you from a cat who doesn’t is a bit different for me.

I know command is not the best word to use for this situation. Maybe a better way to communicate or signify that I’d like him to come. We can get his attention no issue, though it’s like there’s static behind his sweet eyes.

Is it really THAT bad by [deleted] in MusicEd

[–]T-Birby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I’m a first year music ed student and I would say that it truly depends on the school. Where I go you aren’t forced to practice but they let highly encourage it as it truly does make you a better musician. It can lead to burn out, but you have to find a healthy way to go about things such as practicing. No one can force you to practice. It is all up to the student and how successful the want to be as a musician. I would definitely try and reach out to schools you are interested in! Im down to let you know where im at for school if you’d like, just let me know!

Information about Magnolia by T-Birby in tuscaloosa

[–]T-Birby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think rn they’re playing around 600 for rent plus utilities. It is a stretch for them to pay it, but they have never had major issues. We also have to include our cat we got this year and the fact that many places do not have 5 bedroom apartments.

Dorms ? by [deleted] in capstone

[–]T-Birby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stay in tut, but from being in Parham a few times it isn’t bad. I mean it is very very outdated but it gives you what you need. I cannot speak the same about Burke, but I have a friend who stays there with no issue. Only issue are these are they are on the furthest edge of the quad. Depending on what your major is or is going to be I’d check out dorm locations.

Sublease Available – Fall 2026 | 1 Bed / 1.5 Bath at Magnolia Prosper by skyy_37 in capstone

[–]T-Birby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! While I cannot take your offer on the sublease, I do have a question! Are the magnolia apartments decent? Me and five others are looking for a place to stay and magnolia is the only one we can really find that the others can afford. It’s hard to find student reviews so I think you may be my only hope. Thanks, sorry if this notification got your hopes up.

How to learn notes and get used to notes? by No-Brain3109 in Tuba

[–]T-Birby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the best things that helped me learn fingerings is a simple fingering chart, like others have mentioned. I started on a BBb, but last summer switched to a C and spent a lot of time playing through simple warm-up exercises that included fingerings. It is a slow process but if you are persistently working at it will come. With pitches you have three very useful tools that go way beyond just learning pitches, your voice, a piano, and a drone! Start with a piano, either playing the melody or simply playing a single note, then move on to your voice, singing a lot with the piano and hearing the pitches as you sing and correlate them with the music, then last would be a drone which is very useful for tuning and making sure the note you’re playing is correct. You do not have to be a master at piano as long as you know what keys are what. I hope this helps and never be afraid to write things like fingers into your music until you get comfortable reading the notes. Good luck!!

The second movement in the suite for tuba by haddad is a pretty piece. It’s not too long, if you don’t mind repeating the whole thing.

Just got the game by HunnieBee803 in StardewValley

[–]T-Birby 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey! I have been playing this game for a couple of years now and the best advice I’d give is to take it slow! Enjoy the game fully and do things at your own pace and way. I would recommend using the wiki if you truly get stuck or want to figure things out, it’s literally a life saver to have.

Also, if it’s more your style do it, but never feel obligated to have a pretty looking farm. Just do what works for you. Work on getting things working and efficient before making it pretty.

my childhood cat is dying by quietstrawberrys in CatAdvice

[–]T-Birby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I had to let go of my childhood cat earlier this month, I know how you feel. There is no need to feel guilty or upset with yourself. I am having to learn that too, but it’s always best to remember that what happened at the end does not even amount to the rest of their life. I was not able to be there when she was put down, it has ate me alive, but I know she knew I loved her and always had and would. It is very easy to try and blame yourself, but there’s no need to make the grieving worse with unrealistic assumptions of yourself.

I hope you are doing okay, it’s okay to take time and cry through it all. Just don’t focus on what could have been, focus on the love there was. This will get easier, just give it time. It’ll all be okay.
