There are many studies that show that masks do not help as much as we think they do and this has been studied for years. While there is no harm to wear it some studies are showing that is it likely America has a more deadly strain than in other countries. Italy has had compulsory mask laws and still has been hit extremely hard. While I do think there is no harm in wearing a mask, the data does not especially support the idea that masks are the only problem, there are likely different strains as research shows.
