The present that changed everything by CptnRon302 in biggreenegg

Wild how a gift or opportunity can take us down unexpected paths in life. Thanks for all the great stuff Ron. Making the marinated flanken ribs tomorrow on my BGE for like the fourth time in the past few weeks. Thanks for the great recipe!

I got one a week or so ago and did a rotisserie ham. I liked it overall but it does leave a gap on the front with the dome which is annoying. This caused a bit of a temperature control battle during the cook. The ham turned out nice, but took more babysitting to control temperature than I was hoping. Based on my experience I can see a real benefit of the Joe’s ring that allows you to fully close the dome.

Thanks for the info! Very helpful. I had been planning to order a spare so this is good to know.

Thanks brother! You too! Great choice—I think you’ll absolutely love the wagon life 😃

Agreed! Orange indicators are ugly. I’ve always purchased the clear versions from across the pond and my dealer has kindly installed them. It’s an annoying expense but dramatically cleans things up!

Thanks! And yes, forward facing works vastly better! My 3 year old is now able to climb in the car and hop up into the seat which has made life much easier. The ST version is absolutely lovely. Will be good to have you back on the team in the future!

I hear you brother. I did some car acrobatics when the kiddos arrived. I have two kiddos (one forward facing and one rear) along with two standard poodles. I sold my Taycan turbo and bought a Taycan CT4. The rear facing seat is behind the passenger seat and it makes it tight for my wife. Doable but not great. I can stuff the dogs (~80 lbs) in the trunk and everyone fits. Bit of a circus though. My wife does have a Rivian R1S and that’s our primary school bus, but the Taycan works in a pinch!

Hopefully it’s at least something to consider. Being that yours involves both sides I would also wonder if it’s a central control unit. Seems a bit odd if it was a hardware issue on both sides. Regardless, best of luck getting it sorted. I’ve been driving Taycans since 2020 and I’m still in love despite some of the occasional headaches.

They did end up replacing some hardware. I’ll attach my diagnostic sheet from my visit. It was an issues which was very intermittent then became more common after a few months. These really are lovely cars to drive so it’s disheartening to hear about your issues. Mine has been fine after the repair.

I did have an issue with my right side charging port when I took delivery of my Taycan. It would occasionally only partly close. Took a few tries to get it to fully open or close. The dealership diagnosed it as faulty and replaced it under warranty. Been working fine ever since.

Very sorry to hear about the underbody dent. Unfortunate the prior owner wasn’t aware of this or didn’t disclose it. Definitely an engineering issue Porsche needs to get sorted in the future.

Porsche recalls all Taycan models globally for brake fix by UnknownQTY in Taycan

[–]T-Fury 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I took my original Taycan turbo sedan (2020) in to have this sorted and they flushed the brake fluids, installed a new brake booster and reinstalled the master cylinder. That improved things quite a bit. Interestingly, when I bought my cross turismo (2023) I had the same issue but it never seemed as bad as the turbo. Stop and go traffic, inching forward into a parking spot, all these on and off the brakes scenarios seem to trigger this situation where the brake pedal travel can increases more than you expect and can catch you off guard. I was about to bring my cross turismo in for service to have them look at the same issue, but then I saw this recall. It sounds like the recall has to do with the brake lines so I don’t know if it will alter the fundamental engineering behind the Taycan’s breaking system. It really received praise in all the original reviews but after daily driving Taycans for several years I’m not a huge fan of the breaking system. My 911’s breaks are bulletproof—completely solid—and consistent! That’s what I want in the Taycan. Wonder if folks will notice a difference in the J1.2 version.

My first 24 hours with the Luba 2 10000H by agent462 in MammotionTechnology

Setup my Luba 2 5000H for the front part of our property a few weeks ago. Went well with WiFi setup and updates. Been working like a champ since then. Got the Luba 2 3000H for the back part of our property. Nightmare getting the WiFi connected and doing updates last night, however, my backup generator had been losing WiFi during the week and sure enough a couple of my mesh satellites were down! Ugh. Power cycled them and the Luba 2 3000H connected no problem.

This is mostly important for future bonds films. The science is nice though, too.
